VP - Market data Sr. Developer

This is a hands-on Developer position in State Street Global Technology Services ERM systems. We are looking for a candidate who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. The ideal candidate has experience developing applications using Java, Scala, Spark, Kafka, AWS and Databricks. 

What you will be responsible for

• Implementation and delivery of new server-side components, build custom frameworks, and enhancements to the Market Data Hub
• Exhibit superior skills in modern Agile, Cloud-based, Server side, and Datalake technologies.
• Develop understanding in the area of market data domain
• Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the application and influencing technology decisions
• Responsible for taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through completion
• Responsible for establishing best practices, clean-code and design patterns.
• Be passionate about driving change through an organization
• A proponent of Test-Driven Development always striving to Shift Left so as to facilitate effective CI/CD

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

• Minimum of 10+ Years Programming experience with Java, Scala including object-oriented design, algorithms, and datalake technologies such as Databricks, Distributed Cache, Messaging
• Extensive experience in designing, building low-level APIs for high-volume, latency sensitive applications, having experience in multi-threading, data structures, structured data streaming and message oriented middleware.
• Understanding of Data Management tools, to mine data, data masking techniques, automate test data generation for test execution
• Strong understanding and experience building data pipeline (extract, transform and load) processes and the supporting technologies such as Oracle PL/SQL, Kafka, Apache Spark & Scala, Databricks, AWS etc.
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• Knowledge/expertise in Market and reference Data domain
• Communicate effectively in a professional manner both written and orally

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field
• Experience designing and implementing financial applications
