Job Overview:

The VP, Institutional Leader (Wealth Advisors Group) will lead the Institutional segment / Centralized Investor Services (CIS), with responsibility for strengthening institutional partnerships, driving business growth, retaining assets, and ensuring the successful delivery of new programs across the segment.

A typical day for this leader includes coaching and developing CIS sales managers and relationship managers, engaging Institutional Program Managers and their staff, partnering with sales and acquisition teams on growth strategy, analyzing AUM, revenue, pipeline and retention trends, supporting program launches and pull-through, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and performing the compliance and administrative responsibilities inherent in our industry.

A successful candidate will be a self-starter with a proven track record of leading through managers, building trusted institutional relationships, improving sales and relationship routines, and executing business initiatives that accelerate growth while strengthening the end-investor experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the CIS leadership team, including sales managers, relationship managers, and advisors, while creating clear accountability for execution, growth and client outcomes.

  • Build, maintain and deepen strategic relationships with Institutional Program Managers and their staff, serving as a senior point of partnership, escalation and business alignment.

  • Partner with Institutional sales, acquisition and enterprise growth teams to develop strategies that increase AUM, expand revenue opportunities, strengthen pipeline conversion and support new program acquisition.

  • Ensure the pull-through and delivery of new institutional programs, translating implementation activity into adoption, advisor engagement, consistent routines and measurable business results.

  • Retain and grow assets within existing programs by identifying risks, strengthening engagement routines, supporting relationship managers, and helping program leaders solve business challenges.

  • Diagnose segment performance and gaps using data related to AUM, revenue, retention, pipeline activity, relationship health, service levels and end-investor experience; develop action plans to improve outcomes.

  • Develop and implement consistent sales management, relationship management and program review routines across the CIS organization.

  • Work with key partners to identify, develop and execute initiatives that improve advisor productivity, enhance the end-investor experience, accelerate new client acquisition and deepen institutional relationships.

  • Act as a senior escalation point for Institutional Program Managers, CIS leaders, advisors and cross-functional partners, helping teams move issues to resolution with urgency and judgment.

  • Manage and execute the end-to-end talent management process for the CIS leadership team, including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, coaching, development and succession planning.

  • Supervise sales, investment and relationship-deepening activities to ensure coordination with policies, procedures and regulatory expectations.

  • Handle items related to compensation, personnel matters and other leadership responsibilities for multiple direct reports.

Requirements:

  • Series 7, 66, 9/10 licensed

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry with at least 5 years in sales leadership, relationship management or institutional program leadership capacity.

  • 5+ years of experience utilizing CRM tools, sales pipeline management, SLA management, program segmentation and opportunity prioritization.

  • 5+ years of experience in the institutional wealth management space, with specialization in opportunity channels, acquisition strategy, AUM growth, revenue drivers and asset retention levers.

Core Competencies:

  • Exercises good judgment and experience to make timely and effective decisions.

  • A passion for sales management, relationship management, growth strategy and client service.

  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of success in sales leadership, relationship leadership and overall leadership.

  • Comfortable with change management and able to translate new programs into repeatable operating routines and measurable business results.

Preferences:

  • Series 24 license

  • Additional designations are preferred: CFP, CRPC, CFA, CIMA and/or AAMS.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through multiple managers/direct reports and motivate high-performing teams across sales and relationship management disciplines.

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior institutional stakeholders, program leaders and cross-functional business partners.

  • Comprehensive industry and investment knowledge with sound judgment on risk, supervision and regulatory expectations.

  • Proven track record of coaching and improving performance in others.

  • Can attract, recruit and retain effective sales, relationship management and operational talent.

Pay Range:

$136,990.00 - $228,248.00
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
