Job Description:

We’re actively seeking a VP, Inforce Management - Life to join our Consumer Markets Division in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC. This role follows a hybrid schedule of four days in the office (on-site). If you are not currently located near one of our offices, we offer comprehensive relocation assistance. Occasional travel may be required for this role, generally no more than 3-4 times per year, primarily for team meetings, training, or business-related activities.

This is a senior, strategic actuarial leadership role responsible for overseeing the performance, risk profile, and long-term direction of the Life Insurance Inforce portfolio. The role drives business decisions by translating complex Inforce analytics, including mortality, persistency, and profitability trends, into actionable insights, management strategies, and executive-level recommendations.

How you’ll help move us forward:

Strategic Focus

  • Own the financial and risk narrative for Life Insurance Inforce across UL, IUL, VUL, Term, COLI/BOLI, and related blocks

  • Drive management decisions related to profitability sustainability, efficient capital usage, reinsurance strategy, and Inforce actions

  • Partner with Product, Finance, Risk, Legal, Reinsurance, Investments, Capital Management, and FP&A to influence pricing actions, assumption governance, and portfolio management decisions

  • Frame trade‑offs between growth, earnings stability, capital efficiency, and risk.

  • Serve as the primary actuarial advisor on Life Inforce performance and emerging experience trends

Analytics & Insight

  • Lead mortality, lapse, premium persistency, and earnings attribution analysis and forward-looking projections for life Inforce

  • Own fee, spread, and Non-Guaranteed element analysis and forward‑looking projections for life products

  • Oversee stress testing, sensitivity testing, and scenario analysis, ensuring consistent approaches and interpretation across blocks

  • Identify emerging experience trends early and translate them into actionable recommendations

  • Critical member of Product Management Committee and Assumption Review Committee, bringing in-depth expertise to review and challenge initiatives

  • Lead Life actuarial policy management activities focused on aligning consumer, distribution, and enterprise expectations of policy performance

Leadership & Decision Ownership

  • Act as the single point of accountability for Life Inforce performance insight

  • Elevate discussions from retrospective analysis to forward‑looking decision making

  • Develop talent that offers business expertise, leadership, and that builds confidence throughout the enterprise in their work

  • Influence senior leadership through concise storytelling, quantified trade‑offs, and decision‑ready materials

  • Set strategic priorities and decision frameworks for teams supporting Life Inforce analytics

Skills & Experience

  • 12+ years of progressive actuarial experience within the life insurance industry

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) strongly preferred; ASA with substantial leadership experience may be considered

  • MBA or advanced business degree preferred but not required

  • Deep understanding of Life insurance products and Inforce dynamics, including mortality, persistency, and policyholder behavior

  • Strong actuarial foundation with demonstrated ability to connect experience analysis to business outcomes

  • Proven ability to drive decisions

  • Executive‑level communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics

  • Highly consultative, with confidence to challenge assumptions and influence outcomes

Base Salary Range: $245,000 - $275,000+

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
