Accrete is a dynamic and innovative company focused on transforming the future of artificial intelligence. We specialize in creating advanced AI solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights, driving real-world impact for businesses and government organizations. Our team thrives on creativity and collaboration, working together to push the boundaries of AI technology.

At the core of our offerings are our AI agents, designed to autonomously analyze data, generate insights, and make intelligent recommendations. These agents help businesses streamline operations, improve decision-making, and also empower government entities to enhance security, intelligence, and operational efficiency

About the Role
Accrete is hiring a Vice President of FP&A & Strategy to build and lead our financial planning and strategic finance function. This role is a critical executive partner, responsible for driving the company’s long-range financial strategy, fundraising model, and operating budget through a period of high growth and strategic clarity.

Reporting to the COO and partnering closely with the C-Suite, you will own all financial planning processes, from the 2030 strategic plan to the 2026 operating budget, and will co-lead preparation for the company’s Series C. You will manage and scale the FP&A team, design planning systems and processes, and serve as a key voice in capital allocation, growth tradeoffs, and investor readiness.

This role is ideal for a seasoned FP&A leader who has built financial planning functions from scratch and knows what world-class looks like at scale. You thrive in high-ownership environments, bring crisp financial thinking to executive conversations, and know how to translate complexity into clarity.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and lead the FP&A and strategic finance function at Accrete
  • Own the end-to-end planning cycle: 2030 strategic plan → 2026 operating plan → rolling forecasts
  • Design and maintain the fundraising model used for investor conversations and internal scenario planning
  • Drive capital allocation conversations with the COO and CEO, surfacing tradeoffs and risk-adjusted ROI logic
  • Lead financial modeling across GTM, product, hiring, and investment scenarios
  • Build and maintain the operating cadence: forecast reviews, variance analyses, and board-level reporting
  • Support investor and board communications with clear financial narratives and defensible assumptions
  • Hire, manage, and mentor a high-performing FP&A team over time
  • Establish planning systems and tooling to scale reporting, headcount planning, and departmental budgets
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with GTM, Product, and People leaders to align financial plans with operating realities

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You…

  • Are energized by building from zero — and bring a clear vision for what “great” looks like
  • Have a strong point of view on capital efficiency, business model leverage, and sustainable growth
  • Can translate strategy into numbers — and numbers into investor-ready narratives
  • Know how to navigate board-level expectations while staying grounded in execution
  • Are equally effective in a spreadsheet, a forecast review, or a CEO 1:1
  • Are ready to build a team and function that drives clarity, not just compliance

Who You Are

  • 12+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance roles
  • Prior experience leading FP&A at a scaling startup or growth-stage company is required
  • Deep experience building and managing long-range models and operating plans
  • Familiar with investor and board expectations at the Series B/C stage and beyond
  • Proven ability to manage and grow a team while maintaining high-quality execution
  • Strong communication skills — clear, structured, and effective with executives
  • NYC-based and available to work in-office

What You’ll Deliver

  • A fully integrated 2030 strategic plan and 2026 budget
  • A Series C-ready fundraising model and supporting financial narrative
  • Executive-ready board reporting and variance analysis processes
  • Scalable financial systems and processes that enable confident decision-making
  • A high-functioning FP&A team that anchors operational clarity across the business
