Quanex is looking for a VP of Finance to join our team located in Akron, Ohio, Mounds View, Minnesota, or St. Cloud, Minnesota.
The Vice President of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership for an assigned global Quanex division, overseeing all financial operations across multiple regions. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and enabling sustainable growth through robust financial planning, risk management, and operational excellence. The VP will serve as a key member of the Global Leadership Team, partnering with senior executives to shape business strategy and deliver shareholder value. This position reports to the VP, Chief Accounting Officer with dotted line reporting to one or more Division Presidents.

What Success Looks Like:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP and international standards.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls and governance frameworks. Ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the President(s) and the division leadership team on financial matters, growth opportunities, and risk mitigation.
- Lead long-range financial planning and forecasting to support global expansion and profitability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean and Six Sigma projects in transactional and financial processes.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide actionable insights to improve operational and financial outcomes.
- Manage global credit risk policies and make strategic decisions on high-risk domestic and international accounts.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements across jurisdictions, including tax, payroll, and statutory reporting.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations leadership to develop annual sales and manufacturing budgets.
- Support strategic initiatives such as pricing strategies, capital investments, and M&A evaluations.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA required.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role with global responsibilities.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, financial operations, and leading high-performing teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Expertise in global financial management, ERP systems, and advanced financial modeling.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills across diverse cultures and geographies.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and manage risk effectively
The salary range for this position is $223,000 to $274,000 with bonus potential.
