Title: VP of Finance  

Reports To:  Practice Managing Director 

Location:  Remote (In person meetings as needed) 

Role overview:  

The VP of Finance will play a strategic role in helping venture-stage firms build their businesses by providing leadership and in-depth financial and analytical guidance. This person will operate with a high level of independence when assisting clients with their strategic planning and growth. This position will expose you to some of the nation’s top emerging brands and you will have the ability make a significant and lasting impact on their growth and success. 

Responsibilities:   

• Assist clients with strategic planning and growth 

• Develop financials models with the support of the finance team and provide ad-hoc financial analysis 

• Proactively create KPIS dashboards and automate scorecards to guide the key decisions of the business 

• Own the annual budgeting process for the clients 

• Assist client in capital raising including development and presentation of investor decks 

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on acquisition deals 

• Prepare board presentations and attend Board of Directors meetings 

• Provide mentorship and learning opportunities to colleagues 

• Be an industry expert either in E-commerce, CPG, or Tech  

• Leverage network to provide great resources for clients 

Qualifications: 

• BA in Finance, Accounting or Economics 

• 15+ years in finance-focused roles 

• Strong ability to understand the dynamics of an early-stage growth firms, use critical thinking and enable the firm’s management to make strategic decisions 

• Advanced levels of content expertise (both accounting and FP&A)  

• Experience handling the most sophisticated monthly closes as well as board calls and investor presentations 

• Firsthand experience with fundraising, conversant with outside investors  

• Good communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations to Propeller team as well as our clients 

• Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple client workstreams and respond to ad-hoc requests to support business decisions in timely and efficient manner 

• Ability and desire to teach others within the organization  

• Deep understanding of the workings of the CPG, Ecommerce or Tech industries  

Salary: $180,000 -$200,000 plus bonus and benefits
