What You’ll Do

  • Lead the technical vision for how we build the product and use technologies to inform our product roadmap across resident, associate, and investors

  • Determine software roadmap for when to build custom applications, vs. invest in purchased solutions, vs. technical partnerships

  • Hire, develop, and coach a high-performing diverse team of managers and engineers.  Responsible for the growth and retention of high talent engineers thru both a creation of a proper technical track, and external engagements

  • Lead multiple teams focused on product engineering through a rapid growth phase of the company lifecycle

  • Define goals and oversee engineering execution with an overall goal of excellence in code quality and seamless, rapid code deployment

  • Partner closely with the product management team to align the product and technical roadmaps

  • Focus on scoping, resourcing, and capabilities in order to meet expected outcomes related to delivery and finances.  Ability to deliver consistently on-time, on-budget, and on point related to quality.

  • Select and manage vendors who provide ERP solutions in a manner which delivers high business value and technical assurances

  • Select and manage vendors who provide engineering resources in a manner which obtains the best value for the spend while still ensuring implementation excellence

  • Responsible for vendor negotiations specifically related to engineering outcomes, staff augmentation models, and skill assessment of assigned technical resources

  • Review possible technical ventures to determine viability of platforms

  • Be well respected internally and externally as a ‘technical guru’ in both the specific space of single-family home rentals and more broadly, software development

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience

  • 15+ years of experience in software development and architecture 

  • 10+ years of experience managing engineering teams 

  • Knowledge of technical, operational, and cultural structures required to scale teams in a high-growth environment 

  • Strong technologist with knowledge of various architectural styles including layered, monolithic, client-server, or component based

  • Keen business acumen with ability to complete business cases, including NPV and ROI related activities

  • Knowledge or awareness of both core and modern languages such as: Javascript, Typescript, node.js, React, Java, Objective C, Swift, Kotlin, C/C++,.Net, SQL

  • Aware of IOT and IA evolving trends

Salary RangeThe salary range for this position is: $177,825.00 - $308,230.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
