The work is intellectually and technically demanding: FedRAMP-compliant AI, document intelligence for complex workflows, and building reusable components that handle the specialized requirements of government operations.
The RoleReporting to the Co-CEOs, you will own the technical vision and the engineering organization. We need a leader who can define the long-term architectural north star while maintaining our current delivery momentum.
You’ll partner with the Head of Product to synthesize our core use cases into a unified technical vision. Working from our San Francisco office, you will build the systems, culture, and processes required for our next phase of growth.
What You’ll Own- Platform Evolution: Define the technical architecture that transforms our proven workflows into a modular, reusable platform - including data strategy, API design principles, and AI service integration.
- Velocity & Rigor: Establish standards for quality and testing that allow our hybrid onshore/offshore team to maintain high quality and sustainable delivery velocity.
- Compliance & Security: Partner with our Director of InfoSec to ensure platform architecture supports SOC 2, HIPAA, and FedRAMP requirements.
- Organizational Scaling: Recruit and mentor the senior leadership layer needed to support a world-class engineering culture.
RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For
- Scale Experience: 5+ years in senior leadership (VP/Director). You have led engineering through the transition from high-growth startup to enterprise platform.
- Architectural Depth: Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, SaaS architecture, and API design. You're comfortable reviewing technical designs and making architectural tradeoffs.
- Regulated Industry: Experience in GovTech, HealthTech, or FinTech. You understand how to build high-performance software within strict compliance constraints.
- Pragmatism: You balance the "ideal" architectural state with the immediate needs of a fast-growing business and its customers.
- The Mission: You are building the administrative operations platform for the public sector. When this platform scales, citizens get services faster and billions in taxpayer dollars are managed more effectively.
- Proven foundation: We have product-market fit with major state agencies and clear path to Federal and 50-state scale.
- Technical Innovation: AI within FedRAMP constraints isn't solved. Document intelligence at government scale isn't solved. You'll architect both.
