Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead our engineering team. The VP of Engineering will report to the CTO and will be the senior most engineering leader in our India operations, responsible for overseeing all engineering activities, ensuring the successful execution of the company's technology strategy, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
    • Hire, lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Drive the recruitment, development, and retention of top engineering talent.
    • Oversee the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with the CTO and other senior leaders to define and execute the company’s technology strategy.
    • Translate business goals into technical requirements and development plans.
    • Ensure alignment of engineering efforts with the company’s strategic objectives and long-term vision.
  • Product Development and Innovation:
    • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of innovative technology solutions that support the firm’s investment strategies and operations.
    • Ensure the adoption of best practices in software development, architecture, and agile methodologies.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
  • Technology and Infrastructure:
    • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the firm’s technology infrastructure.
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of robust software development practices, including version control, testing, and deployment.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of technological innovation.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as a key interface between the engineering team and other departments, including product management, operations, and senior leadership.
    • Communicate technical strategies, project statuses, and goals to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong technical background with experience in software development, architecture, and system design.
    • Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks.
    • Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies.
  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Exceptional leadership, management, and team-building skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
