As the VP of Data, you will lead the data strategy to enhance our funding products and SaaS applications. You will harness data to drive our product innovation and improve client outcomes.

In this role, you will…

• Data Strategy Development: Define and implement a data strategy aligned with re:cap's mission to provide cutting-edge funding solutions and automate financial operations

• Data Product Development: Build data products that are tightly integrated into our customer-facing applications together with our Engineering team

• Machine Learning and AI Implementation: Manage the development and deployment of machine learning models and AI solutions to automate financial operations for our customers and generate insights

• Data Governance and Quality: Improve data quality processes and establish robust data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with financial regulations

• Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance to founders and board members on data-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and market opportunities

• Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and ensure that data initiatives support their objectives

• Team Leadership: Lead our teams of data engineers, data scientists, and financial data specialists to derive actionable insights that enhance product offerings and customer experiences

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to integrate data solutions into our SaaS platform and funding products

• You are an experienced data lead with 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or backend development with exposure to data infrastructure, machine learning, and analytics.

• You bring 4+ years of leadership experience, having led data or engineering teams in fast-paced, product-driven environments.

• You are proficient in data analytics with SQL and Python, with experience in DuckDB and Parquet being a plus

• You have expertise in machine learning frameworks and know how to bring ML applications into production

• You can structure and optimize processes to measure and continuously enhance data quality and machine learning pipelines

• You have deep experience with modern data stack architectures, including

  • Storage: GBQ, Snowflake, Databricks, …

  • Integration: Airbyte, Fivetran, …

  • Transformation: dbt

  • Orchestration: Dagster, Airflow, …

• You understand data architectures that can handle high-volume data pipelines and analytics

• You can translate complex data findings into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders

• You think strategically about data-driven financial solutions and SaaS applications

• You have a good understanding of the fintech landscape, with a particular experience with funding solutions and SaaS being a plus

• You are familiar with compliance considerations related to financial data and GDPR

• You focus on driving business success through data initiatives

• You are innovative and forward-thinking, with a passion for leveraging technology to enhance financial insight

• You have a collaborative mindset and thrive in a dynamic startup environment

• You are fluent in English, German is a plus

• You have a valid EU work permit and reside within the EU. re:cap does not offer visa or relocation support at the moment
