A day in the life

Prologis is seeking a Vice President, Customer Led Development (CLD) to lead the sourcing, structuring, underwriting and execution of complex Build-to-Suit and land acquisition opportunities. This hands-on role advances opportunities from diligence through entitlement and site readiness, translating customer requirements into executable development outcomes.

 

The VP will focus on building a defensible land bank in secondary and tertiary markets that complements Prologis’ capital deployment in core logistics locations. You will partner closely with the Global and European Heads of CLD, the Regional Head of Southern Europe, and cross-functional partners including Capital Deployment, Development Management, Construction, Capital Markets and Customer Led Solutions.

 

This role blends strategic oversight with active deal execution, offering direct exposure to customers, capital decisions and development outcomes across the market.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the origination and structuring of complex land transactions, including options, acquisitions, joint ventures and ground leases.
  • Advance land and Build-to-Suit opportunities through due diligence, underwriting, LOIs and transaction execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across land, entitlements, design, construction, capital approval and legal to manage concurrent pursuits.
  • Identify and progress land and redevelopment opportunities supporting near-term and future customer demand.
  • Coordinate entitlement, permitting and site-readiness activities, including early engagement with power and utility providers.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline tracking and prepare materials for internal investment and capital approval processes.
  • Serve as a primary CLD contact for customers, brokers, municipalities and utility stakeholders.
  • Support and develop the Director, Customer-Led Development, fostering a collaborative and customer-focused team culture.

 

Building blocks for success

 

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in industrial real estate development, land acquisition and customer-facing development in France, Germany and/or Europe.
  • Minimum of 7 years supporting or leading complex industrial acquisitions, Build-to-Suit developments or related customer-led or merchant development activities.
  • Proven experience structuring BTS transactions, land purchases and options, entitlements and complex deal structures.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of underwriting, site readiness and civil works.
  • Fluent in French and/or German and English; established local network of brokers, municipal authorities and industry partners.
  • Comfortable working across internal stakeholders and traveling as required (~40%).

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, finance or a related field.
