Role Summary/Purpose:

As a member of the Performance Marketing Center of Excellence, within the Synchrony Marketing organization, the VP, Marketing Preference Platforms will serve as the owner and leader for the Synchrony Marketing Consent and Preference Management Platform.  This role will drive the strategy, prioritization and processes of marketing preference management.

Working cross-functionally and with senior leaders, this role, acting as the Product Manager within the Agile structure, will oversee the platform, usage and associated activities, including governance, budgeting, optimization and enhancing capabilities.

The successful candidate will develop and lead a high-performing Preference Center team, create and manage procedures and documents, be responsible for compliance and regulatory required processes, while providing superior customer satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Be the Marketing Consent and Preference Management platform SME and Product Manager, offering strategic thinking and program vision to exceed customer needs.

  • Partner with internal, enterprise Senior Leaders to ensure capabilities are aligned, data is effectively integrated and delivered to applicable internal parties.

  • Coordinate and partner with Legal & Compliance leaders to ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are addressed and satisfied.

  • Serve as primary innovator and platform liaison to business stakeholders, connecting enterprise strategies and aligning roadmaps towards a long-term, unified customer experience with requisite integrations.

  • Act with industry knowledge and understanding as it relates to consumer preference, consent and data privacy trends.

  • Oversee direct business requirements and translate into platform architecture for both stakeholders and technical resources.

  • Establish and analyze platform KPI’s. Monitor performance, with an eye towards continuous improvement. Make necessary recommendations, including technical and budgetary requirements.

  • Oversees all platform reporting and measurement efforts for Synchrony Preference Center.

  • Primary contact for vendor/partner operational activities, including platform expansion and associated proposals.

  • Drive innovation and optimization in the consent and preference space, leveraging AI techniques and capabilities offered by platform suppliers and/or internal partners.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. In lieu of a degree, HS Diploma/GED and 14+ years of leadership and management experience.

  • 10+ years of professional work experience, including:

    • 7+ leadership and management experience, preferably in a technology, marketing or privacy related fields

    • 5+ years experience leading or managing Marketing Technology platforms

    • 3+ years experience directly overseeing enterprise-level privacy and preference management platform

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor Degree with focus in Marketing, Engineering and/or Computer Sciences/Information Technology.

  • MBA or Juris Doctorate preferred.

  • Leadership experience within Preference Management platforms and tools, managing consent management, privacy and consumer preference highly desired.

  • Excellent communicator, driving consistent, executive-level engagements and communications across multiple forums and channels.

  • Proven success record of implementing and managing complex technology solutions in a matrixed environment.

  • Exemplary skills in leadership and executive-level communications, including the technologies and forums for critical senior-level engagement.

  • Experience in growing and developing team members in a manner consistent with platform vision, company culture and customer success.

  • Deep knowledge of consumer and industry trends relating to consent, cookie management and privacy-preference management including customer choice strategies.

  • Strong understanding of the U.S. Privacy, Preference and Consent landscape, including legal and regulatory policies (ex: CAN-SPAM, CASL, CCPA, CPRA.

  • Familiarity or experience with Generative and Agentic AI capabilities highly desired, specifically in areas of Marketing Technology and consent management

  • Experience in Agile methodologies and processes

  • Broad experience working with internal cross-functional partners (i.e., IT, Enterprise Operations) to ensure alignment of priorities and requirements.

  • Ability to lead and perform under aggressive timelines.

  • Proven experience synthesizing insights from structured analyses to inform business decisions and communicating with stakeholders in an effective manner.

  • Experience working directly with technology suppliers to oversee improvements, troubleshoot and governance.

  • Highly motivated, assertive self-starter with the ability to set a team vision and execute.

  • Management of teams of 8 or more, including hybrid, onshore, offshore and contractor combinations.

  • Experience in compliance and/or governance a plus.

  • Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (SAFe POPM) 4.6 and higher

  • Experience with consumer financial services organizations, ideally with exposure to credit card marketing or retail marketing, and familiar with consumer protection, privacy and related laws and policies.

Grade/Level: 13

                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
