Wells Fargo is seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Vice President, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to lead business development efforts within our Emerging Middle Market Banking segment, serving companies with annual revenues of $25 million to $100 million. This is an opportunity for a proven commercial banker who thrives on creating new relationships, uncovering opportunities, and helping growing businesses achieve their strategic objectives. Rather than inheriting an existing portfolio, this individual will focus on building a franchise through proactive prospecting, network development, and consultative client engagement.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to acquire and grow relationships with Emerging Middle Market companies.
- Build a consistent pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, centers of influence, and community involvement.
- Establish trusted advisor relationships with business owners, executives, and financial decision-makers by understanding their strategic priorities, operational challenges, and growth objectives.
- Structure, negotiate, and execute commercial banking solutions, including cash flow lending, commercial real estate financing, treasury management, and other capital solutions.
- Partner across Wells Fargo to deliver the firm's full suite of products and services, creating customized solutions that meet complex client needs.
- Lead relationship planning activities to deepen client engagement and identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with credit partners and product specialists to develop and present comprehensive banking solutions.
- Maintain strong sales discipline, pipeline management, and client activity in CRM systems.
- Serve as a market ambassador for Wells Fargo, building visibility and credibility throughout the local business community.
- Navigate complex client situations, manage risk appropriately, and ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
- 5+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Demonstrated success acquiring new commercial banking relationships and generating revenue growth
- Experience serving companies with annual revenues between $25MM and $100MM
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending, treasury management, and broader commercial banking solutions
- Completed formal credit training program or equivalent credit underwriting experience
- Ability to structure and discuss complex financing solutions with business owners and executive leadership teams
- Established network of business owners, professional advisors, and centers of influence within the Greater DC market
- Proven ability to build, retain, and grow long-term client relationships
- Strong business development, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across product, credit, and risk partners to deliver exceptional client outcomes
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- This position requires onsite presence at one of our listed locations

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
