Job Description:


Dentsu Creative is seeking a Vice President, Client Leadership to serve as a senior strategic advisor and business partner to clients. This role will lead integrated account teams, oversee complex shopper marketing initiatives, and drive the development of innovative, insight-led programs that deliver measurable business results.


The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in shopper marketing, strong client relationship management skills, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across strategy, creative, media, production, and analytics.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, building long-term partnerships and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Lead integrated shopper marketing strategies that align business objectives, consumer insights, and retailer priorities.
  • Partner across creative, media, analytics, production, experiential, and partner agencies to deliver connected marketing solutions.
  • Guide teams through strategic planning, creative development, production, execution, and performance optimization.
  • Translate shopper, customer, and business insights into actionable marketing programs that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Oversee account operations, resource planning, delivery standards, and overall client satisfaction.
  • Identify risks, resolve challenges proactively, and ensure successful execution across multiple workstreams.
  • Leverage performance data and market insights to optimize campaign effectiveness and inform future investment decisions.
  • Partner with agency leadership on financial management, forecasting, profitability, and business growth.
  • Develop and mentor high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and career development.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 10+ years of integrated agency account leadership experience, including leadership of large-scale, multi-disciplinary marketing engagements.
  • 5+ years of experience leading, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in shopper marketing, including the development of strategies that drive consumer engagement, purchase conversion, and measurable business results across retail and omnichannel environments.
  • Experience leading integrated marketing programs spanning shopper, experiential, digital, social, content, and media disciplines.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and serve as a strategic business advisor.
  • Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to translate business challenges into growth opportunities and actionable marketing solutions.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams and agency partners to deliver integrated, insight-driven programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple brands, business priorities, and stakeholder groups within complex client organizations.
  • Strong understanding of shopper insights, retail dynamics, customer marketing, and omnichannel commerce strategies.
  • Experience leveraging performance data, audience insights, and measurement frameworks to optimize marketing effectiveness and inform business decisions.
  • Proven ability to oversee account operations, delivery excellence, resource planning, and client satisfaction.
  • Experience managing account financials, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and profitability.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Experience identifying business opportunities that expand client partnerships and contribute to agency growth.
  • Experience within CPG, retail, commerce, or other shopper-focused categories is strongly preferred.

At dentsu, we believe great work happens when we’re connected. Our way of working combines flexibility with in-person collaboration to spark ideas and strengthen our teams. Employees who live within a commutable distance of one of our hub offices, currently located in Chicago, metro Detroit, Los Angeles, and New York City, are required and expected to work from the office three days per week (two days per week for employees based in Los Angeles). Dentsu may designate other Hub offices at any time. Those who live outside a commutable range may be designated as remote, depending on the role and business needs. Regardless of your work location, we expect our employees to be flexible to meet the needs of our Company and clients, which may include attendance in an office.

 

The annual base salary range for this position is $155,000  - $175,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.  Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
