The Vice President, Captive Executive will execute business development strategies, initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify their needs and sell and manage ongoing services to meet those needs. Assist in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific brokers and clients including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations, ongoing stewardship, and client presentations. Help to run captive board meetings when needed. Requires extensive out of town travel, including proposal presentations, workshops, and board meetings.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or other related discipline and at least five (5) years of experience in Commercial Insurance business development or underwriting. Must have experience in the development and presentation of new business and renewal proposals to brokers and directly to clients.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep knowledge in Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance specifically Workers Compensation, Commercial Automobile, and General Liability.
- Establish and maintain on-going broker, vendor, and client relationships.
- Drive premium growth through new business development and ongoing renewals in assigned captive(s).
- Participate in on site visits for presentations of new business proposals, renewal proposals and client stewardship.
- Lead contractual negotiations and participating in negotiations as necessary with insurance companies, brokers, and clients.
- Communicate back to internal groups the outcome of the negotiations, new business proposals, renewals, and stewardship.
- Oversee activities needed to support each assigned captive team member.
- Actively participate in workshops and relationship building within assigned captive through presentations and other various structured activities.
- Establish and manage annual budgets.
- Contribute to semi-annual board meetings.
- Outstanding Microsoft Suite and Presentation Skills
- Responsible for professional looking documentation, including board books, proposals, and submissions.
PRIORITIES: Captive Membership Growth, Customer Service and Relationships
TRAVEL: Required, both domestically and internationally, for this position. This includes compliance with all requirements of the localities and destinations, as well as transportation carrier requirements.
