Canvass Lead
Position Summary
MF Professional Services (MFPS) is seeking a Canvass Lead to support civic engagement, voter registration, voter education, and community outreach efforts on behalf of its clients, including Mi Familia Vota (MFV) and Mi Familia en Acción (MFA).
The Canvass Lead is a hands-on field position that provides day-to-day direction, training, coaching, and support to a team of approximately 4–5 canvassers while also engaging directly with community members.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily canvassing activities, assignments, turf, materials, and team check-ins.

Train, coach, and support canvassers in the field.

Conduct voter registration, voter education, GOTV, and other approved community outreach.

Monitor team progress, performance, attendance, and field safety.

Prepare and manage turf using VAN, MiniVAN, maps, or other approved tools.

Review voter-registration materials and canvassing data for accuracy and completeness.

Complete required data entry and daily/weekly reporting.

Ensure compliance with voter-registration, data-security, timekeeping, and safety procedures.

Promptly escalate performance, safety, or compliance concerns to management.
Qualifications

Canvassing, campaign, voter-registration, community outreach, field organizing, or civic-engagement experience required.

Previous experience training, coaching, or providing direction to a canvassing/outreach team preferred.

VAN, MiniVAN, or similar voter-contact system experience preferred.

Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and in a fast-paced field environment.

English/Spanish proficiency preferred.

Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended campaign hours as needed.
Work Environment
This is a field-based position requiring frequent walking and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The position may involve work in residential neighborhoods, community locations, public spaces, events, offices, and vehicles.
Skills Required
- Some campaign and/or field organizing experience
- Experience using VAN
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Legible handwriting
- Bilingual English and Spanish
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
