Job Summary
As a VoIP Performance Testing Engineer, you will make a significant contribution to automate process to assess a Real-Time Communication system and also work to remove existing bottlenecks to improve the system's performance and reliability. You will also contribute to continuous delivery and observability by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The VoIP Performance Testing Engineer evaluates existing technologies, promotes process improvements, and shapes standards and best practices while providing expert guidance to project teams across the organization. This role plays a fundamental role in driving the performance assessment and improvements of the system.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Create custom tools and frameworks to support test automation, using modern development and test automation frameworks as needed;
- Feel comfortable architecting strategic solutions for overall testing efforts;
- Ability to identify the best framework for the task at hand;
- Plan and create the overall quality technical architecture;
- Identify quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as a software developer (ex. Python, Scripting, JS, Java, Ruby, Go);
- Strong experience with testing (manual and automation);
- Strong experience with Load and Performance Tests;
- Experience with manually testing Web and API technologies;
- Experience working with test management;
- Experience creating, maintaining, and working with test automation tools and frameworks;
- Knowledge of test methodologies and their corresponding tools (e.x., SIPp, JMeter, Gatling, k6);
- Experience with testing and delivering SaaS products;
- Able to connect best practices with the daily activities.
Highly Desirable Skills
- Work knowledge in VoIP Systems and VoIP Protocols (ex. SIP, RTP, TURN, STUN);
- Experience with Real-Time communication systems;
- Experience with automation frameworks/tools;
- Experience with Database scripting;
- Knowledge in CI/CD pipelines;
- Knowledge in Data analysis.
