The Opportunity:
As a VMware Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the NCTE VMware virtualization environment. You will collaborate closely with other IT professionals across contracts to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the NCTE virtualized infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and configure VMware vSphere servers.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize VMware infrastructure performance.
- Manage VMware vCenter Server, including resource allocation, and performance tuning.
- Plan and execute VMware ESXi host upgrades, patches, and security enhancements.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate VMware infrastructure with storage, network, and other systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation for VMware infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users and other IT teams as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5 years of experience in managing VMware vSphere environments.
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, and ESXi administration.
- Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, technologies, and best practices.
- Familiarity with storage, networking, and server hardware technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desired:
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification preferred
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.
- Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
