The Role
Lead stamping and tooling development for single-panel feasibility through launch. Develop 2D/3D stamping processes, run die/tool reviews and buyoffs, ensure Engineered Cycle Rate and quality metrics (LQOS, PSW), apply FMEA/PFMEA, support PVT/ TVM, conduct root-cause analysis, train sites to resolve sheet-metal issues, and deliver projects on time and budget.

  • Work with both facility and tooling team both within to ensure all launch metrics are delivered.
  • Support to Identify and analyze deviations from established company quality standards.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and prevent re-occurrences
  • Support PVT & TVM activities as required
  • Develop and train LNE teams on all sites to be capable of: Overcoming issues such as splits and wrinkles
  • Improving FPA to better-than-expected levels

  • Ensure component capability and quality is achieved to standards and specifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relate.
  • Extensive experience 5 + years in stamping and tool development 
  • Experience working with Stamping Core Class A Panels. 
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD /Catia/3DX/Tebis /Vismockup) 
  • Solid Technical knowledge - 2D / 3D drawings (Facilities and Stamping dies)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSA):

  • Strong trade and hands on background experience.
  • Exposure to both advanced engineering programs and launch.
  • Prior experience in stamping production and or tooling manufacture.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
  • 5+ years experience in stamping and tool development
  • Experience with Stamping Core Class A Panels
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD, Catia, 3DX, Tebis, Vismockup)
  • Solid technical knowledge of 2D/3D drawings for facilities and stamping dies
  • Strong hands-on/trade background and prior stamping production or tooling manufacture experience
  • Knowledge and application of FMEA/PFMEA methodologies
  • Experience with launch processes (LQOS, PSW, PVT, TVM) and achieving ECR/SPM targets
  • English proficiency (written and spoken) and strong communication skills
  • Team leadership and ability to train local engineering (LNE) teams
  • Familiarity with Ford systems/procedures (WERS, TCE, Confluence, WDX, FPA, PSW workflows)
