We are seeking a talented Visual Designer and Content Editor with strong design and video editing skills to join our team.


Requirements

We are looking for a Visual Designer & Content Editor who can bring ideas to life through design, video editing, and AI-enabled creative workflows.

In this role, you will create engaging visual assets and multimedia content that strengthens Mercari’s brand presence across digital platforms. You will collaborate closely with branding, HR, and cross-functional teams across global offices to deliver impactful creative content.

Work Experience

2-3 years of experience in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or related fields.

Must-Have Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia, or related field.
  • Experience as a Visual Designer, Graphic Designer, or Content Editor.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Coral).
  • Strong video editing skills in Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with Motion Array for sourcing templates and assets.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, layout, and color theory.
  • Experience using AI design tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design and video work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Visual Design

  • Design visual assets for social media, campaigns, newsletters, websites, presentations, and branding materials.
  • Ensure consistent brand identity across all design outputs.
  • Create mockups, layouts, and prototypes to present concepts and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate with HR and branding teams to execute creative campaigns.

Video Editing & Multimedia

  • Produce and edit high-quality video content for social media, web, and internal communications.
  • Execute cuts, transitions, text animation, motion graphics, and color grading.
  • Optimize content for different platforms and devices.
  • Create short/long-form video and motion content for marketing and employer branding.

AI-Enabled Design

  • Integrate AI tools into the design workflow for faster ideation and production.
  • Use AI for image generation, concept exploration, editing, and automation.
  • Stay updated on emerging AI tools and trends in creative workflows.
  • Apply responsible and ethical use of generative AI.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with branding, HR, TA and cross-border teams to create engaging content.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming and campaign ideation.
  • Provide design and multimedia support across internal and external initiatives.

Content Production

  • Develop storyboards, mood boards, and visual concepts for shoots.
  • Support pre-production and post-production for photo and video content.
  • Assist with planning and executing content shoots when required.

Quality & Consistency

  • Maintain high design and content quality standards across outputs.
  • Review assets for accuracy, clarity, and brand alignment.
  • Stay updated on design trends and visual storytelling best practices.
