Job Description
Job Title: Visual & Multimedia Designer
Department & Team: Genesys Orchestrator Education
Reports to: Manager, Curriculum Design
Location: Chennai, India
Job Level: P1 – Individual Contributor
Experience: 3+ years
Summary
This is an opportunity for an experienced multimedia and visual designer who enjoys turning complex product workflows into clear, intuitive, and visually engaging learning experiences. Based in Chennai and working as part of the global Orchestrator Education team, you will own the end-to-end production of product walkthrough screencasts—from planning and screen capture through editing, motion, and final polish—and shape the visual design language that surrounds them: diagrams, UI callouts, iconography, thumbnails, and branded templates. With 3+ years of experience behind you, you will work independently on defined projects, take creative direction well, and raise the bar on how our content looks and feels. Your work directly influences how customers learn, adopt, and succeed with Genesys Cloud. If you are energized by craft, clarity, and measurable customer outcomes, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, produce, and edit product walkthrough screencasts, UI demonstration videos, and scenario-based workflow tutorials—owning the full production cycle from storyboard and screen capture through editing, motion, and final export.
- Establish and apply a consistent visual design system across educational content, including iconography, diagrams, UI callouts, instructional overlays, color and typography treatments, thumbnails, and reusable templates.
- Design supporting visual assets—process diagrams, architecture and workflow illustrations, infographics, and branded graphics—that make abstract system behavior immediately understandable.
- Edit and refine multimedia content to professional quality standards, including audio leveling and clean-up, pacing refinement, captioning, and color consistency.
- Partner with curriculum designers to ensure every asset maps to a specific learning objective and supports the intended instructional outcome.
- Collaborate with product stakeholders and SMEs across time zones to ensure technical accuracy and workflow relevance, and to keep content current as the product evolves.
- Maintain adherence to Genesys brand guidelines and accessibility standards across all visual and multimedia output.
- Manage source files, asset libraries, naming conventions, and version control so work is reusable, traceable, and easy for others to pick up.
- Apply genAI tools thoughtfully within the production workflow to increase throughput while protecting quality and brand consistency.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in multimedia production, visual design, motion design, or a closely related field—ideally producing instructional, product, or technical content.
- A portfolio demonstrating both screencast/video production and original visual design work (diagrams, iconography, layout, branded graphics). Portfolio or showreel required at application.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar, e.g. DaVinci Resolve) for video editing and production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for visual asset creation and image editing.
- Proficiency in a vector design tool such as Adobe Illustrator or Figma for icons, diagrams, and scalable graphics.
- Hands-on experience with screen capture and screencast tooling.
- A strong grasp of visual design fundamentals—layout, hierarchy, typography, color, and composition—and the judgment to apply them within an established brand system.
- Ability to explain complex workflows through clear visual and narrative structure.
- Strong attention to visual detail, pacing, clarity, and instructional accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams, including distributed stakeholders in other time zones.
- Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to run multiple projects to deadline with limited supervision.
- Comfort working independently while incorporating feedback constructively.
- Ability to learn and use genAI tools.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills in English.
Desirable Skills
- Experience designing for enterprise SaaS, CX, or contact center products.
- Experience producing content for an LMS or knowledge base, including subtitling, localization-ready assets, and accessibility (WCAG) considerations.
- Comfort with light scripting or automation to streamline repetitive production tasks.
