The Visitor Services Associate is responsible for covering the Visitor Services desk and lobby. This role involves selling admissions, memberships, and related products, while maintaining a thorough knowledge of Da Vinci Science Center programs and events. The Associate will provide exceptional customer service to all visitors, ensuring a positive and informative experience.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Welcome visitors to DSC and provide a high level of customer service and knowledge of programs and events to all visitors.

  • Maintain proficiency in POS system operations and ensure understanding of key responsibilities associated with its use.

  • Execute the opening and closing of Visitor Services, including counting cash drawers at the start and end of each shift, setting up and dismantling registers, ensuring all electronic devices are fully charged, providing guests with maps, and completing additional tasks as assigned.

  • Serve as a cashier, accurately and efficiently checking in visitors while following all cash control policies.

  • Process all coupons, discounts, group, consignment and complimentary tickets according to established standards and procedures.

  • Promote and sell memberships to visitors, including converting walk-in ticket buyers to members.

  • Generate reports related to attendance, memberships, or other business metrics as required to support organizational needs.

  • Acquire thorough knowledge of all DSC programs and events to effectively upsell, answer questions, and guide visitors to their desired destinations including birthday parties, special events, facility rentals and auxiliary services.

  • Create physical membership cards for members and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the procedures involved.

  • Answer incoming phone calls, respond to voicemail and inquiries, and transfer calls to the appropriate extensions.

  • Support daily operations as needed, including but not limited to assisting on the exhibit floor, providing support for group visits, events, and helping with basic facilities-related tasks to ensure a smooth and welcoming visitor experience.

  • Monitor Visitor Services, Coat room, first floor restrooms and haven room for safety and cleanliness.

  • Execute emergency plans by following all policies and procedures.

  • Support the Science Center’s mission and values statement, support the mission to bring science to life and lives to science, and display a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging in all aspects of your work.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Current high school students actively working towards obtaining a diploma in the next year.
