About the Opportunity
The School of Nursing invites applications for full time (52 week) Visiting Assistant or Associate Clinical Non Tenure Track Faculty positions with an anticipated start date of July 2026. This position will support the hybrid Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The role requires regular on campus presence in Charlotte to support program operations, student learning, and collaboration with faculty within the nursing program.
The candidate will demonstrate teaching excellence and commitment to supporting faculty, staff, and student environments. The candidate should possess a terminal degree in Nursing or related field, or matriculate into a terminal degree program before or immediately following appointment.
Preferred candidates will have clinical and/or teaching experience in mental health nursing.
We welcome candidates with interdisciplinary expertise who are capable of leading and collaborating with researchers at Bouvé and across Northeastern University.
Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, engaging in scholarship, and participating in departmental, college, and university service. Qualified candidates must have expertise in, or a demonstrated commitment to, working with global student populations.
Qualifications
Possess a terminal degree in Nursing or related field, or matriculate into a terminal degree program before or immediately following appointment
Evidence of an established area of research and scholarship, teaching excellence, and demonstrated excellence and commitment to supporting faculty, staff, and student environments.
Hold an active unencumbered license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina by appointment start date
Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing education, with the ability to employ evidence-based, student-centered pedagogical strategies that promote clinical judgment, critical thinking, and NCLEX success
Satisfy the North Carolina Board of Nursing requirements to teach in a pre-licensure nursing program
Current or recent clinical expertise in psychiatric-mental health nursing, with the ability to deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction across didactic and simulated learning environments
Experience with online instruction preferred, including proficiency in learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and the ability to facilitate engaging, high-quality virtual learning experiences

Pay Range:
52-week Salary Ranges: Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor: $84,000.00 - $102,000.00 | Visiting Associate Clinical Professor: $92,000.00 - $111,000.00With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
