We are currently looking for a Senior Gearbox & Systems Engineer to join our F1 Team in Faenza, Italy.
In collaboration with the entire team, the Senior Gearbox & Systems Engineer is the first responsible for mechanical assembly validation trough bench test characterization ensuring that parts that reach the track are always performing and reliable at the level they are designed to.
This role also involves attending from remote Race and Test events, investigating issues that arise on the track and implementing effective procedures to ensure the car is race-ready at every event.
Following the directions of the Line Manager, Gearbox & Systems Engineer will also be involved in Pit Stop data analysis to look after performance, reliability and management of the technical kit, contributing to the overall success of the Pit Stop Crew.
Job Description
Accountabilities:
Deal with Engineering Operations Mechanics to organize car part testing and sign off within timeframe defined by Assembly Manager and imposed by F1 calendar.
Perform car component’s sign off tests and characterization, as defined within RB Test Dpt. Procedures.
Manage all the required data analysis to provide the most accurate test results to other involved departments.
Undertake studies, schemes and design of test rig, based on technical information provided by the Design Office, according to the guidelines of the Assembly Manager and management.
Work closely with the Design Office to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronics, race teams and external partners.
Support the Race Team attending on track or from remote Race and Test events following Engineering Operations components performance and reliability.

Qualifications
University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in Hydraulic automations, mechanical design, particularly in the context of Formula 1 or high-performance automotive industries.
Good knowledge of Hydraulic components.
Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Siemens NX, McLaren Electronics or similar.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to motivate and guide a technical team.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills required; Italian language fluency is preferred.
Ability to work under pressure and as a team player.
