Job Description:

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria. 

VIE Main Requirements:

  • European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old.

  • Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any. 

  • Fluent in English. 

  • If graduated more than 12 months ago, at least 52 weeks of full time profesionnal experience in the aerospace industry, in sales or customer services roles are required

Airbus Americas Commercial Aircraft Contracts Department is seeking a structured and business-minded individual eager to make a real difference in a fast-paced environment, as part of the prestigious V.I.E. (Volunteer for International Experience) program.
About your team

Imagine a vibrant, multicultural team based in Herndon, Virginia and Mobile, Alabama, at the heart of our aircraft and services sales and deliveries. We are a group of professionals who collaborate closely to negotiate and deliver complex sales contracts. We work closely with our headquarters in Europe, and interact directly with US and Canadian customers. You'll find a supportive environment where your contributions will help us shape more efficiently our commercial success and ensure our customers' satisfaction. Your challenges: 

  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance: You'll be responsible for the meticulous documentation of deal specifics, a critical task for securing internal approvals and maintaining the integrity of our processes.

  • Supporting strategic decision-making: Your contributions to commercial offers preparation and participation in sales strategy meetings will offer you a unique understanding of one of the most exciting business environments.

  • Proactively mitigating risks: You will assist in identifying and assessing contractual risks, requiring a strong analytical mindset and the ability to anticipate potential issues.

  • Streamlining processes: You'll contribute to documenting and improving our processes, offering the opportunity to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Managing information securely: You'll be involved in implementing and maintaining compliant and secure filing of sensitive commercial data.

  • Contributing to operational excellence: Monitoring aircraft deliveries and identifying trends will provide valuable insights for optimizing our operations.

  • Developing negotiation expertise: For a reliable and solid performer, this role offers the exciting challenge of progressing to support contract negotiations directly with customers, further developing your negotiation skills and commercial acumen..

Your boarding pass:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual with:

  • A Master's degree in Business, Aerospace Engineering with business experience, or an MBA.

  • A background in contracts or law would be a plus.

  • A passion for the aviation industry.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in one of French, German, and/or Spanish is desirable.

  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
