The Video Strategy Manager will drive exceptional content performance, curate video content, and shape strategy with a primary focus on YouTube and secondary focus on video for other social channels (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, etc.). This role will define the vision as it relates to video-on-demand and livestreaming , ensuring alignment with broader marketing and business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing a YouTube channel, developing content strategy, digital marketing, and audience development, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making. This role requires exceptional communication, collaboration skills, and the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
 

Strategic Leadership & Vision:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive channel strategy for the Salesforce YouTube channel aligned with marketing and business objectives.

  • Lead YouTube channel managers from across the company to align on a cohesive approach to the platform. 

  • Identify opportunities for growth and innovation, and define the vision for Salesforce's YouTube presence.

  • Identify and evaluate emerging trends and technologies in online video and social media, and integrate them into video and channel strategy.

  • Channel Management & Optimization:

  • Oversee the video publishing and channel programming calendar.

  • Direct the optimization of video titles, descriptions, tags, and other elements for SEO.

  • Lead the monitoring of channel performance, analyze metrics, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Oversee the creation of custom thumbnails and channel banner images.

  • Stay up-to-date with algorithm changes, trends, and best practices.

  • Manage and grow the subscriber base through strategic decision making and discoverability.

Product Marketing Alignment:

  • Consult product marketing to develop video content that effectively communicates the value of Salesforce products to target audiences, driving product awareness, consideration, and adoption. 

  • Work with product marketing to create compelling videos around key product launch moments.

  • Gather and analyze data on video performance to assess the impact of video content on product marketing goals.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for channel governance, video strategy, and access across all Salesforce YouTube channels.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, content, creative, campaigns, events, and other teams to enable and share video best practices.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, including agencies and vendors.

  • Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of developing and executing a successful YouTube strategy that drove channel growth and viewership. 

  • Expertise in SEO and digital marketing, with a deep understanding of the YouTube algorithm and best practices.

  • Experience with YouTube Analytics and Google Analytics.

  • Strong understanding of product marketing principles.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.

  • Ability to influence without authority

  • Adaptable self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with other social media platforms and their integration with YouTube.

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $169,600 to $233,200.For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $155,400 to $213,800.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $169,600 to $233,200.

For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $155,400 to $213,800.
