About the role:
Lighting skill is critical for the job. You'll report to the Creative Director and shoot both stills and motion, product, lifestyle, social, often in spaces that aren't built for it. Our studio setup is lean, so the work depends on what you can do with light and a few smart choices, not a big budget or a perfect room. When a full shoot isn't realistic, you'll know how to finish the work with AI tools instead. You'll also mentor the video designers on the team, so your standards become the team's standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Shoot photo and video for product, lifestyle, brand, and social content
- Light scenes with real skill, including imperfect spaces that need creative problem-solving, not just gear
- Set up and run lighting for studio and on-location shoots, adapting fast on site
- Use AI video and image tools to complete, fix or extend work when a full shoot isn't practical or budgeted
- Frame every shot with intention: composition, core concept, depth, and movement, never default
- Run a shoot solo or with a small crew, camera, lighting, and grip
- Mentor video designers, raising their lighting, framing, and storyboard.
- Keep an eye on what top brands are doing and bring fresh ideas into our own work
- Report directly to the Creative Director, turning creative direction into shot lists and lighting plans
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- 7+ years of experience in video and photo production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating elevated visual quality, storytelling, and production execution.
- A portfolio with real photo and video range, not just one or the other
- Lighting skill that shapes mood, not just exposure
- A track record of getting great shots in less-than-ideal spaces
- Strong, current knowledge of AI video and image tools, and when to use them instead of a full shoot
- Sharp framing and composition instincts
- Comfortable running a shoot start to finish, solo
- A point of view on what the best brands are doing, and ideas for pushing our work further
- Some experience mentoring other shooters or video designers
Preferred Skills
- Equally strong in controlled studio setups and messy on-location conditions
- Basic editing or color sense, enough to know what post needs from you

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of experience in video and photo production with portfolio
- Proven ability to run end-to-end productions including shoot planning, on-set direction, and post-production oversight
- High-end production and cinematography experience working with tight timelines and minimal budgets
- Expert-level command of lighting, composition, visual tone, and environmental design
- Experience leading and directing creative teams and providing actionable feedback
- Hands-on production skills to shoot, direct, or run lean productions independently
- Experience translating briefs into executable concepts, storyboards, and scripts
- Proven track record managing budgets and timelines and delivering on schedule
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive projects forward with minimal reliance on external vendors
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment with high expectations for quality and ownership
