Video Editor
Job Description
We're seeking a motivated and creatively driven Video Editor to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for an editor with 2-4 years of experience who possesses a strong storytelling instinct and a passion for crafting engaging video content. You'll work collaboratively with our project manager, sound engineer, director of photography, Sr. Motion Graphics Artist, taking greater ownership of projects and contributing significantly to the creative process. This role may involve international travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Storytelling Efforts: Independently edit and assemble raw footage into polished, story-driven video content, demonstrating a strong understanding of narrative structure.
Contribute to Creative Development: Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing creative ideas and collaborating on the conceptualization of video projects.
Advanced Technical Refinement: Execute precise edits, color corrections, and create basic motion graphics to enhance the visual and auditory impact of videos.
Platform Optimization: Produce and adapt video content for diverse platforms, including YouTube, social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), and internal communications, demonstrating a strong understanding of platform-specific requirements.
Efficient Asset Management: Maintain a well-organized library of video files and project assets, ensuring efficient workflow and accessibility.
Project Management and Delivery: Manage project timelines and quality standards, delivering polished final products that meet or exceed expectations.
Feedback Integration and Revisions: Proactively incorporate feedback from leadership, senior editors, and stakeholders, making necessary revisions to achieve optimal results.
Continuous Skill Enhancement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in video editing to enhance your skill set.
On-Location DIT and Production Support: Travel to various locations to assist in footage dumps, organization, and setting up projects for success, demonstrating on set problem solving.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Advanced Collaborative Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate creative ideas.
Expert Software Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro with a strong understanding of non-linear editing workflows and a working knowledge of related software.
Strong Storytelling and Visual Acumen: A keen eye for cinematography and detail, with a proven ability to craft compelling visual narratives.
Effective Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive Learning and Adaptability: A strong desire to learn, adapt, and grow in the field of video editing, with a proven ability to adapt to changing travel schedules and on-location production environments.
Portfolio Showcase: A portfolio demonstrating your video editing skills and storytelling abilities.
Nice to Haves:
Proficient experience with DaVinci Resolve for color grading.
Proficient experience with Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and visual effects.
Solid understanding of audio editing and sound design principles.
Experience working with NAS / Server-based systems for both collaborative remote editing and archiving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal Education: Degree or certification in film production, multimedia design, or a related field, with 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.
Demonstrated Professional Experience: Proven experience in video production or editing, showcasing a strong portfolio of completed projects.
Advanced Social Media Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of social media video formats, trends, and best practices across various platforms, with demonstrated success in creating engaging content.
Strong understanding of camera RAW formats across various systems.
A strong desire for personal and professional growth, with a commitment to being a life long learner. We are a team of life long learners.
