Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the creative ideation that supports the CT Sun brand and business goals, resulting in effective storytelling that engages existing and draws in new fans, ultimately supporting revenue streams. This position will have a team of creators that feed social media, in-arena, and broadcast content, establishing consistent narratives and style but customized for each medium.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
- Assist in planning and implementing annual creative video services to support player amplification, team milestones as well as revenue and community initiatives.
- Support comprehensive strategic video content plan across all mediums (social media, in-game, broadcast) in support of the overarching brand strategy, also ensuring that all brand standards and guidelines are adhered to.
- Oversee the development of video content that includes but is not limited to long/short form, photography, vlogs, podcasts, written (long/short form), data visualization, presentation templates and any new method of content.
- Create process and communication for all outsourced content services including workload and asset management for all Sun videos
- Ensure brand identity is consistent across all expressions of the brand.
- Collaborate with other departments share vision and create better stories.
- Create an environment that is open to creative flow, inspiring, and results in frequent ideation and brainstorming sessions in person or on sharing tools
- Responsible for pre-production planning, scheduling, ideation equipment management, filming, editing and archiving footage
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stay informed of new equipment and technology, in addition to new shooting and creative techniques for development of engaging content in and out of the arena
- Lead a team of in-house creatives providing skills-based growth opportunities for video editing and graphics design staff
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, the arts or another related field
- 3+ years of experience in content creation preferably with a sports organization
- Experience working with video and production teams
- Creative eye with ability to communicate vision
- Leadership and culture-building capabilities
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Master in presentation tools such as: Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft PP, Google Slides and Prezi. Must be able to use those skills to build out - formal creative decks, art direction boards (for graphic designers), video boards (for video and vfx teams).
- Must understand each job on a production set, the differences and the specific needs pertaining to pacific shoots.
- Must have a masterly level of understanding camera lens selection specifically pertaining to anamorphic styles as well
- Must be able to understand equipment needed for each shoot to rent
- Understanding of music licensing and legal compliance
- Must have mastery level skills in the following programs: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Rush, Final Cut Pro, AVID Media Composer, Davinci Resolve
- In lieu of a degree and previously mentioned experience, 6 years of experience in content/production
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
- Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
- Effective utilization of Mohegan Sun Evaluation programs
- Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment
Training Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of Trello, MilaNote, Mohegan Sun’s Time & Attendance and Manager Self Service systems
- Knowledge of Mohegan Sun budget planning and analysis process and procedures
- Mohegan Sun CER and purchasing procedures
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Office work environment
- Overnight travel may be required
- Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
