Job Description:
Work with team members in the analysis, financial modeling, negotiation, structuring, sourcing, and managing of financings related to mining companies, mining projects, and commodity conversion companies in the Americas. Take independent initiative, and in coordination with MD/Directors in the group, to generate new transactions. This includes preparing client marketing pitches and internal presentations. Build an extensive network of client/advisor/other financier relationships in the market. Position ING to win mandates and transaction allocations with clients. Execute new lending transactions applying shrewd discernment and analytical skills and assuming responsibility for the deal including, due diligence, preparation and negotiation of terms, obtaining final credit approval, and processing final documentation to financial close. Manage the parts of the credit process, including but not limited to the preparation of internal memos and credit approval packages. Actively engage with other departments (Financial Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Loan Distributions Group, Environmental & Social Risk team, Capital Structuring & Advisory, Transaction Services, Market Research, Lending, Loan Agency, and Risk as appropriate) to ensure proper coverage of all aspects of the transaction. Closely manage and monitor an existing portfolio of accounts and self-generated transactions, raising negative trends as they occur, conducting annual reviews (as well as any other deliverables) and ensure completion by deadlines. Support the Global Metals and Mining platform and contribute to the development of junior team members.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field and minimum 5 years of investment or commercial banking experience working with mining sector. Must have experience working with the following: Structured and project finance for the metals and mining industry sector; structures including prepayments, PXF, structured corporate debt, acquisition, and traditional project finance; performing financial analysis and modelling; accounting methods, cash flow statements, and credit approval packages; non-lending products including debt advisory, capital markets, equity markets, and strategic hedging; all stages of deal execution including preparing pitchbook presentations and greenlight packages for senior management; reviewing term sheets and structuring and negotiating lending transactions; performing DD of credit, environmental, technical, insurance; and preparing commodity memos.
