Our HEOR team is hiring a Vice President to lead a team of interdisciplinary research professionals conducting client studies in the biopharma space, operating as a thought leader, problem solver and consultative expert.

About You

  • You are an experienced health economics and outcomes research leader who has experience leveraging a broad range of models to answer key research questions for pharmaceutical and biotech clients (e.g., budget impact, cost consequence, cost effectiveness).
  • You have a demonstrated track record in economic modeling, as well as possess a solid understanding of key concepts and principles related to evidence synthesis and comparative effectiveness, as well as critical US payer requirements, including CMS, ICER, and private payers.
  • You can clearly explain the rationale, methods/results, and strategy for studies to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • You understand strengths and limitations of alternative approaches and propose applications/solutions of new or existing methods tailored to a specific research question.

About The Role

The Vice President (VP), VDEM is responsible for the growth and development of VDEM services and talent as part of the core Evidence Generation and overall HEOR leadership teams. The VP creates new business, cultivates key client relationships, oversees a growing delivery team, and finds opportunities to improve and grow current business.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate in and contribute to the senior leadership of the business including setting business strategy, participating in initiatives that encourage colleague engagement and satisfaction, promoting business growth, and ensuring operational and methodological excellence
  • Collaborate across multiple business units on business strategy and execution
  • Provide leadership and direction as part of the core Evidence Generation and overall HEOR leadership team delivering high-quality evidence-strategy planning, economic modeling, real-world evidence, and related services to biopharmaceutical industry clients globally
  • Coordinate prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery for VDEM projects with resource and project leaders
  • Contribute to business growth within existing HEOR services and expansion of HEOR-related service lines
  • Achieve revenue and sales targets through direct client engagement, and support research and scientific leads in client management, project delivery, and sales activities
  • Build new business opportunities and maintain long-term partnerships with clients, proactively identifying and proposing technical and strategic solutions
  • Manage multiple assigned accounts simultaneously and related revenue
  • Manage communications to support department and business unit goals and objectives
  • Identify, develop and retain talent both inside and outside of the existing VDEM team
  • Partner with colleagues and business leaders on staffing-decision recommendations (level to hire/when to hire) based on capacity models, utilization, and business pipeline
  • Coach, mentor, and develop VDEM staff including overseeing new-employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their career development and goals

 Required Experience

  • 10-12+ years of experience, at least four in a consulting environment
  • Postgraduate degree - PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred; Master’s degree in a subject related to health services research (e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health), with relevant experiences considered.
  • Strong knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry and payer-evidence requirements
  • Proven record of leadership experience in high-impact HEOR publications, business development, consulting, and/or leadership, including a proven track record of success.
  • Expert review and interpretation of data outputs and results, and develop/deliver publications and/or presentations
  • Experience with development of pharmacoeconomic models, with specific understanding of value-demonstration modeling, including but not limited to:
    • Possesses expert understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry, medical affairs, and requirements for payer and health-technology assessment, evidenced by a track record of relevant publications
    • Demonstrates sufficient understanding of relevant methods to be able to oversee studies involving model development/validation (budget impact, cost effectiveness, cost consequence, other), and utility modelling/mapping (trial-based analyses)
    • Clearly explains the rationale, methods/results, and strategy for studies to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders
    • Understands strengths and limitations of alternative approaches and proposes applications/solutions of new or existing methods tailored to a specific research question
  • Strong strategic and technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of the interconnectedness of the variety of commercialization services that a life sciences company needs to successfully launch a project.

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
