Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is an amusement park with over 30 attractions and experiences, including first-of-their-kind roller coasters.

The Vice President of Theme Park Marketing is a strategic leader who plays a vital role in driving attendance, revenue, and brand loyalty for a theme park. This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical thinking, and business acumen to develop and execute marketing campaigns that capture the imagination of potential guests and keep the park at the forefront of the industry.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy:
  • Conduct market research to identify target audiences and understand their preferences.
  • Set marketing goals and objectives aligned with the overall park strategy.
  • Develop a cohesive marketing mix encompassing advertising, public relations, social media, digital marketing, and promotional campaigns.
  • Oversee the development and execution of marketing initiatives for new attractions, products,, services, events, and seasonal offerings.
  • Manage and optimize marketing budgets:
  • Allocate resources effectively across various marketing channels.
  • Track and analyze marketing campaign performance using data and metrics.
  • Identify and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Lead and build a high-performing marketing team:
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate talented marketing professionals with expertise in theme park marketing.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment to achieve theme park marketing goals.
  • Encourage innovation and creative thinking to stay ahead of the curve.

Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders:

  • Collaborate with other departments (operations, sales, entertainment) to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Develop and manage partnerships with media outlets, travel agencies, and tourism organizations.
  • Build strong relationships with industry influencers and bloggers.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Continuously research and analyze emerging trends in the theme park industry.
  • Implement innovative marketing strategies that leverage new technologies and guest preferences.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive, results-driven experience in executive-level marketing, with significant leadership background in the theme park, hospitality, or a related high-volume entertainment industry. A minimum of 5 years serving in a senior management or director-level capacity, demonstrating experience in leading and mentoring large, multi-disciplinary teams and overseeing multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field with a strong preference for MBA.
  • Proven Track Record: Success in developing and executing enterprise-wide marketing strategies that directly drive attendance, revenue growth, and brand equity.
  • Strategic Data Interpretation: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex marketing data and performance metrics into actionable strategic insights that guide major campaign adjustments and drive overall business objectives.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills required to effectively influence C-suite decisions, motivate large, diverse teams, and translate strategic goals into clear, executable plans.
  • Strategic Vision and Consumer Foresight: Possesses a visionary and creative outlook alongside a deep, data-driven understanding of global consumer behavior trends and the competitive dynamics of the theme park industry, ensuring long-term market advantage.

Work Environment:

  • Events may be in an outdoor setting with movement between temporary structures, buildings, and different terrains.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate however, during events, the noise level may be loud.
  • While performing the duties of this position, you are occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
