VP Tax (Group Functions)
VP Tax role is responsible for developing and implementing Essity’s global tax strategic framework. The role is responsible for all tax activities globally. It drives and continuously develops the tax function to enable the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the Finance function overall.
The role is reporting to the Group CFO.
What You Will DoResponsible for the day-to-day tax risk management globally as well as tax work streams in any strategic projects.
Responsible to ensure that Essity has an efficient legal- and capital structure
Being the owner of all tax processes throughout the group and responsible for the reporting, internal controls and compliance in respect of taxes.
Owner of policies, instructions and guidelines in relevant tax areas.
Organize and staff the Group’s central tax function and manage its competencies
Overall responsible for the global tax operations.
Deciding and implementing tax technology to further streamline tax processes and improve efficiency.
Continuously explore and integrate new technologies to enhance tax reporting and compliance.
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential tax-related risks, oversee internal and external tax audits
Work closely with the business areas and senior management to ensure that tax considerations are integrated into decisions and strategies.
Identify opportunities to optimize shareholder value.
Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement Essity’s tax strategic framework and aligning it with the company’s overall goals.
Possess a University degree or equivalent within a relevant practice, ideally a qualified lawyer with a strong background in tax law.
At least 15 years of senior leadership experience in tax (especially Swedish corporate income tax), preferably within multinational corporations.
Hands on, pragmatic, and pro-active mindset.
Skilled communicator who influences and negotiates with great freedom on outcomes
Ability to think strategically and plan for the long-term, ensuring that the tax community supports the company's future growth and objectives.
Ability to navigate within a matrix, managing stakeholders at all levels.
Proven ability of working effectively across different cultures, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Not afraid to make challenging decisions, demonstrating sound judgment in complex situations.
The role is based at the Head Office in central Stockholm.
