The Vice President of Strategic Client Business is responsible for leading the Lenovo client business team across Client Services, Field Operations, Training, and Data & Analytics. This role ensures the profitable delivery of Lenovo’s strategic objectives, fostering client satisfaction while driving innovation, operational excellence, and team development. Reporting directly to the President of Premium Retail Services, the VP shapes and aligns the team’s efforts to meet Lenovo’s business goals while positioning the team as a trusted advisor and partner.

 

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and communicate the strategic vision for the Lenovo Client Team, ensuring alignment with Lenovo’s goals and Premium Retail Services’ mission.
  • Translate high-level objectives into actionable plans, empowering teams to deliver measurable results.
  • Act as a thought leader, driving Lenovo's innovation and strategic growth opportunities.

Client Leadership:

  • Build strong, strategic relationships with Lenovo’s leadership, understand their business objectives, and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Drive alignment with Lenovo’s goals, ensuring the team exceeds expectations on all program KPIs and deliverables.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for Lenovo, ensuring seamless resolution of any challenges.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor the Client Services, Field Operations, Training, and Data & Analytics teams, ensuring alignment with Lenovo’s strategy and operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop talent across the team, closing skill gaps and preparing future leaders for success.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the execution of Lenovo’s strategic initiatives, ensuring quality and timeliness of all deliverables.
  • Implement and monitor SOPs and workflows to optimize team efficiency and collaboration.
  • Champion using advanced tools like Power BI to enhance reporting and decision-making capabilities.

Financial Management:

  • Own the Lenovo client P&L, ensuring profitability and financial compliance.
  • Develop and manage the annual scope of work in partnership with Lenovo, aligning financial forecasts with strategic goals.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, including organic expansion within Lenovo’s business.

Innovation and Strategic Growth:

  • Drive innovation by leveraging insights from Data & Analytics to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the training team to ensure that Lenovo stakeholders and retail partners are well-equipped to deliver on program objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance Lenovo’s market position through thought leadership and industry best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal teams, including Client Services, Field Operations, Training, and Data & Analytics, to align efforts and deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Ensure smooth collaboration with external partners, vendors, and retail stakeholders.
  • Serve as a champion for Lenovo within Premium Retail Services, advocating for resources and alignment across departments.

KPIs:

  • Contract Renewal: Successful Lenovo Strategic Client contract renewal, ensuring alignment with business goals and continued growth.
  • Achievement of KPIs: Consistent delivery and achievement of Lenovo-defined KPIs and financial targets.
  • Client Satisfaction: Positive Lenovo client feedback and account retention, focusing on identifying and delivering service expansion opportunities.
  • Operational Excellence: Delivery of high-quality, on-time program deliverables with measurable efficiency improvements across team workflows and operations.
  • Strategic Growth: Developing and implementing scalable solutions that drive Lenovo’s market leadership and strategic goals.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in client leadership, program management, or retail services, with significant P&L responsibility.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering profitable client solutions.
  • Experience working with high-profile clients, preferably in the technology or consumer electronics industry.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional ability to set and communicate a strategic vision for high-performing teams.
  • Strong retail operations, training, and understanding of analytics, with experience integrating these functions into cohesive strategies.
  • Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and contract management.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, from retail partners to executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with tools like Power BI, Salesforce, or other analytics and CRM platforms.

Physical Requirements 

  • Sit for extended periods (typically 6+ hours per day).
  • Use a computer, including keyboard and mouse, for prolonged periods.
  • Lift and carry light items (e.g., files, office supplies, laptops, typically 20+ pounds).
  • Reach, bend, or stoop occasionally to access files or office materials.
  • Maintain focus and attention for long periods of desk-based work.
  • Follow clear directions.
  • Perform repetitive motions (e.g., typing, clicking) consistently throughout the day.
