Vice President, Services Business Development (Retail & Commerce)
Vice President, Services Business Development
As Vice President, you will drive the growth of Mastercard's Services business by leading both new logo acquisition and expansion of existing client relationships across key markets. You will be accountable for building a strong pipeline, closing strategic deals, and scaling long-term revenue through Mastercard's Data & Services portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end business development: from prospecting and lead qualification to deal closure and revenue growth
- Drive new client acquisition (new logos) by proactively identifying, engaging, and converting high-potential prospects
- Grow and manage a portfolio of existing clients ("farming"), increasing share of wallet and expanding into new buying centres
- Develop and execute client-centric growth strategies, translating customer needs into scalable, value-driven solutions
- Build and maintain senior relationships (incl. C-level), positioning Mastercard as a strategic partner
- Own and consistently deliver against sales targets, pipeline development, and revenue objectives
- Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and negotiate commercial agreements
- Collaborate cross-functionally to accelerate deal execution and ensure seamless client delivery
Experience & Skills
-Proven track record of excellence in B2B sales and business development, with clear success in both hunting (new logos) and farming (account growth)
- Strong experience in selling complex solutions, ideally within data/analytics, loyalty, or professional services
- Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and close deals with senior executives and C-level stakeholders
- Highly proactive, self-driven, and resilient with a strong commercial mindset
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to quickly understand and position complex, technical offerings
- Strong collaboration skills with experience working across markets and cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
- Fluency in English and German
