Job Summary: The ideal candidate to fill this position is a Senior Electrical Engineer that is competent and confident in their abilities as a licensed responsible charge electrical engineer, especially with experience in a vast array of market sectors including mission critical, institutional, healthcare, industrial / power and process work. This person would be a Client Manager of multiple projects, and work with an internal MEP/FP team to deliver projects that meet the objectives of the architect/owner. Business Development acumen is important, so understanding business development is a plus and opens many avenues for advancement. These activities may include developing an action plan to solicit and secure new work, implementation of goals, objectives, and priorities for the San Antonio office, identifying prospective markets and clients, etc.
General Duties:
- Client engagement and supporting other leader(s) in any business development and early project development activities
- Support of technical project proposal activities, including technical writing or case studies/qualifications, project fee generation, and alignment of project technical staff
- Effectively communicating and setting expectations with owners, contractors and architects
- Technical mentorship with electrical design and engineering staff and having an intimate understanding of the workflow needs associated with key project deliverables
- Senior Technical Project/Program management for high profile projects/programs
- Assist MEP Engineering staff in quality assurance and quality control of assigned projects
- ICT encourages the growth of all our engineers to take a more responsible and leadership role based on experience
- Supporting recruitment activities and participating in interviews with certain technical role candidates
Skills:
- Expertise in MEP engineering principles of building construction, especially in electrical engineering fields of power distribution, generation, commercial, institutional and industrial/manufacturing construction
- Excellent client management and business acumen skills
- Manages Risk and Client Expectations in accordance with all contractual obligations
- Excellent in application of all applicable Building (IBC, SBC, etc.) codes/standards, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, Energy Codes, etc.
- Experience with SKM/ETAP or other Electrical system modelling software
- Registered Professional Engineering license required
- Knowledge of Revit and how it is leveraged as a production resource tool for junior engineers and designers
- Capable of increasing technical competency with experience and work ethic
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team
- Excellent planning and organizational skills required for simultaneous project schedules.
Qualifications:
- 20+ years of work experience with complex building electrical systems across a diverse range of market sectors
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar ABET Accredited engineering program
- Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
- Willing to travel (+/-20%)
