The Vice President of Risk and Regulatory Compliance provides collaborative leadership for clinical consultants for nursing and quality of life, working closely with Area Vice Presidents and other members of the leadership team. Operates in such a way as to assure achievement of the quality goals of the organization. Guides leaders of assigned centers to meet our high standards of care and generate strong and consistent operating and financial performance.

 

Hybrid position based in Indiana, with a presence in centers required 2-3 days per week, based on company and center needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing a strategy in partnership with senior operational leadership to oversee the Regulatory and Quality Assurance Performance Improvement in accordance with company policies, standards of clinical care that meet state/federal regulations.
  • Subject matter expert for center leadership, Area Vice Presidents, Regional Directors of Clinical Operations, and other members of the team
  • Assist Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Leadership Team, and AVP's with strategic planning, existing program revision, and new program design and evaluation.
  • Policy and Procedure Program review and implementation
  • Analyze business processes and delivery of care within regions and initiate appropriate action based upon the QAPI process.
  • Lead QPI quarterly meeting for company
  • Provide oversight and support to center QAPI meetings.
  • Support and mentor Regional Directors of Clinical Operations as they provide both clinical and operational support to their assigned facilities.
  • Interpret company policy and procedures to regional teams, RDCOs, facility leaders, and staff to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Deploy resources to ensure that the most critical needs are addressed in collaboration with Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Operating Officer, AVP's and Regional teams.
  • Actively Participate with Home Office departments and regional teams to provide feedback and recommendations for development and implementation of new initiatives, policies, processes, and systems to ensure compliance and successful outcomes.
  • Apply management of clinical expertise, education, research, and consultation to optimize clinical/operational outcomes.
  • Provide guidance to Regional Directors of Clinical Operations, Regional Teams, and facility leaders in solving problems, refining existing processes and developing innovative programs that stabilize or improve clinical, reimbursement, and compliance results.
  • Act as a liaison between home office, facility staff, and regional teams.
  • Assess and provide resources needed for RDCO's to excel in supporting and directing facility staff to provide the best possible resident care.
  • Develop supporting relationships with all regions, home office executives and staff to ensure high quality resident care.
  • Provide education for new initiatives, strategies, programs, regulations, and other updates that occur.
  • Track and trend clinical data monthly, provide findings to the regional team with suggestions/or opportunities to correct when applicable.
  • Maintain survey and mock survey rosters. Follow up with regional team as needed when pertinent information is required or when time sensitive deadlines are approaching.
  • Review visit reports to ensure areas of concern are followed up.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership, Clinical Leadership Team, Area Vice Presidents and Regional Directors (RDCOs) to ensure regulatory and clinical standards are maintained.
  • Assist Chief Clinical and Compliance Officer, as needed and requested, with data gathering and submission for Board and other meetings.
  • Provide direct clinical support for centers, as assigned by Chief Clinical and Compliance Officer, including state(s) outside Indiana.
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to manage risk events
  • Lead Informal Dispute Resolutions (IDRs) for the company
  • Track and Trend survey data over time
  • Proactive survey management, i.e. schedule mock surveys, ensure follow up, track and monitor 2567s and plans of correction
  • Support educational needs for the organization, mentor regional and center Directors of Clinical Education
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher preferred, experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of ten years management experience in healthcare with at least five years in acute and/or long-term care in a multi-facility or corporate position
  • Must be able to travel extensively, including overnight stays and work on-site
  • Capable of being a spokesperson for the Company in clinical and quality matters
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
