The Role

As The Vice President of Quality and Standardization, you will lead our efforts to transform revenue cycle management in partnership with our largest health system customers. In this role, you will facilitate executive management and oversight in the central operations functions of the company. The Vice President (VP) of Revenue Cycle Operations is directly responsible for driving C-level strategy and operations discussions, facilitating strategic and budgetary reviews.

Here’s what you will experience working at R1: 

  • Lead Revenue Cycle standardization and quality initiatives, owning and delivering on timelines with high P&L implications 

  • Execute and improve R1’s operating model  

  • Act as a change agent to help establish common goals across hospital organization to optimize success 

  • Partner with Customer Executive team to align operational and financial objectives 

  • Participate in R1 strategy development as a thought leader and content expert sharing best practices, optimizing performance, and leading transformative change 

  • Serve as a thought leader for Customer Ops and Executive teams 

  • Own executive decisions regarding daily operations of each customer operation 

  • Focus on development, performance and growth of our team  

Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required 

  • At least 10 years of Operational experience with at least 5 years in Revenue Cycle. 

  • At least 5 years of steadily advancing leadership roles and a proven track record of success. 

  • Experience driving complex change – The ability to help counterparts through difficult transitions to a new process, workflow, technology, or situation 

  • Strategic vision across operational excellence in end to end solutions. 

  • Strong and broad understanding of Revenue Cycle Operations within a Hospital setting. 

  • Tenacity /Grit – This role will require getting deep into details and personally driving results in complex and challenging environments. While this work can be tedious, it is foundational to success. 

  • Analytical Skills – Understanding of complex Excel and Access and/or simple SQL are a plus. More important is mathematical / analytical aptitude, ability to translate operational concepts into measurable results, and vice versa. 

  • Leadership Skills – Strong communications and leadership skills, while acting as a role model and coaching team members in R1’s core values. 

  • Interpersonal Skills – The ability to establish oneself as a peer and trusted partner for our client counterparts. 

  • Motivation / Drive – Successful candidates will be the quintessential self-starter and have a desire for continuous learning. Going beyond what is asked to take on new challenges and create innovative solutions is critical to success. 

  • Permanent US work authorization.

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $170,956.00 - $274,007.40 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 30.00%
