The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Strategy, Innovation and Product to join our executive team. This dual-role position will partner with the President to lead strategic initiatives, drive innovation, and oversee our product management team. The role also involves collaborating with Danaher, Platform, and OpCo functions for technology assets through M&A, licensing, and partnerships, as well as leading company-wide strategic execution initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Innovation Leadership:

  • Full ownership of the end-to-end strategic process - from vision through execution - to achieve sustainable growth.
  • Lead market work within both existing spaces and adjacent spaces in order to open up strategic opportunities for Molecular Devices.
  • Develop thought leadership on industry trends, both emerging and established, to ensure business is aligned to capitalize and establish a market leadership position.
  • Lead the formation of a coherent strategic plan in collaboration with Opco and LS Platform leadership that clearly conveys a differentiated and defensible position for Molecular Devices.
  • Communicate, guide & mentor the Strategic planning process across the Senior Leadership team within the OpCo.
  • Facilitate workshops that encourage reflection, effective tool utilization and the development of deep insights for the OpCo strategic initiatives.

Product Management Leadership:

  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring alignment with market needs and business strategy.
  • Lead and mentor the product management team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research, gather customer feedback, and analyze data to inform product decisions.
  • Prioritize product features and enhancements based on customer needs, market trends, and business priorities.
  • Ensure timely and successful product delivery by coordinating with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Monitor product performance and iterate on features for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in strategic planning, innovation management, and product management, ideally in the life sciences industry.
  • Proven experience in relevant product marketing.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with a track record of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Experience in a technology-driven industry is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet
  • Create an inclusive environment and utilize diverse talent in market research & insight development to elevate talent & produce higher quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate across the OpCo with subject matter experts and identified resources to perform market analysis, identifying targets, supporting due diligence efforts etc.
