POSITION SUMMARY
The VP Product Management - Originations will drive the development of innovative lending solutions that transform application, underwriting, processing, post-close workflows. This role is execution-focused and centers on leading the strategic direction and execution of intelligent automations across the mortgage lifecycle.
This role is pivotal in transforming underwriting, processing, and post-close workflows through cutting-edge technology and AI-driven solutions. embedding Generative AI, NLP, OCR, and RPA into core mortgage processes to deliver automation, compliance, and operational efficiency at scale. As a key leader in our growing organization, you will manage the product lifecycle from strategic planning to execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and deliver product roadmaps that align with business goals and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B SaaS, fintech, or lending, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products.
DESCRIPTION
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision:
- Develop a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with company objectives and customer needs.
- Define and prioritize the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and market opportunities.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential gaps in the product portfolio.
- Define objectives and key results (OKRs) for H2O, proprietary Loan Origination Platform (LOS), to ensure focus and accountability across the organization.
- Hire and retain Product Leaders and Product Managers.
Product Lifecycle Management:
- Lead the product development lifecycle from ideation and design through to development, launch, and ongoing iteration.
- Create detailed product requirements and user stories, working closely with engineering, design, and operations teams.
- Monitor progress against development timelines and ensure products are delivered on time and within scope.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure successful product launches and enhancements.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to translate customer needs into actionable product features.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication across teams to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Management & Customer Focus:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and leadership teams, to gather feedback and drive product improvements.
- Understand customer pain points, use cases, and workflows to ensure the product delivers value and solves real problems.
- Host regular stakeholder meetings and provide updates on product progress, key milestones, and next steps.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and customer satisfaction.
- Use data analytics and user feedback to inform product decisions and iterate on features post-launch.
- Proactively identify and resolve product issues, leveraging metrics to determine areas of improvement and optimization.
Market Research & Competitor Analysis:
- Stay up to date with the latest market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive products in the mortgage/lending software space.
- Analyze competitor offerings to differentiate the product and maintain a competitive edge.
- Use insights from research to identify new product opportunities and enhancements that meet evolving customer needs.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 12+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in mortgage technology or fintech and product leadership role.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven success in managing full product lifecycles from concept to launch, with measurable impact on business growth.
- Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, such as start-ups or scale-ups.
- Strong understanding of mortgage operations, LOS platforms (e.g., Encompass, Blend), and workflow automation tools.
- Experience with AI technologies (Generative AI, NLP, OCR, RPA) and their applications.
- Understanding of AI ethics, compliance, and operational integration.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and scaled Agile practices.
- Familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Figma, Productboard, or similar platforms.
- Technical aptitude with experience collaborating with engineering teams on software development projects.
- Leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to translate customer needs into actionable product features.
- Business acumen and ability to make data-driven decisions that balance business needs and technical constraints.
- Experience in the mortgage and lending industry, with a solid understanding of financial products and regulatory requirements.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Working on-site at assigned office location.
- Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
- Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.
