We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Product Owner to join our Wealth Services Platform team. 

In this role, as part of BNY Pershing’s Wealth Services Administration Group, you will help deliver a seamless, self-service experience that allows firm administrators to tailor the platform to their needs in real-time, without waiting on implementation teams or customer support. This role is located in Jersey City, NJ. 


In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Simplify complex technical functionality into a seamless user experience 
  • Drive vision for platform and user interface product to support both internal and external clients 
  • Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across party and account/investor reference data domains 
  • Drive crossfunctional collaboration to deliver highimpact solutions aligned with business objectives and client needs 
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, gathering requirements from stakeholders and partnering closely with development teams to ensure highquality delivery. 
  • Develop clear and concise product briefs that articulate feature goals, requirements, and value. 
  • Make informed tradeoff decisions to advance current work, escalating risks or issues to leadership when appropriate. 
  • Establish and track key product metrics, defining measurement and instrumentation to evaluate postlaunch performance. 

 To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Proactive, “get it done” approach with the ability to overcome obstacles and maintain focus on goals. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

    BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting. 

    Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Eligible employees also may receive other benefits (including various paid time off benefits, such as vacation and sick time), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

    Skills Required

    • 5 or more years of experience as Product Manager or Product Owner in a fast-paced, OKR-driven team
    • Previous experience in engineering and highly technical roles
    • Experience in high-growth settings
    • Prior experience in financial services industry including advisory accounts
    • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions (strategic mindset)
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Ability to remove roadblocks and maintain focus on product vision (get-it-done attitude)
    • Organized, resourceful, and able to prioritize tasks
    • Interest in learning new tools and technologies and sharing knowledge with the team
