About the Role
The Vice President (VP), Orange Bond – Bangladesh, will play a key role in advancing IIX’s efforts to mobilize capital for Orange Bonds in Bangladesh. With a primary focus on stakeholder engagement, process management, and business development, the VP will help drive the strategic involvement of donors, development partners, and key stakeholders in the bond’s success. The role also includes contributing to the bond structuring process, ensuring that companies seeking Orange Bond funding adopt “orange advisory” principles and align with best practices in sustainable finance.
Key Responsibilities
· Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, development finance institutions (DFIs), local financial institutions, government agencies, donors, and development partners to facilitate capital mobilization.
· Bond Structuring & Execution:Support the design, structuring, and negotiation of Orange Bond transactions in Bangladesh, ensuring alignment with global best practices and investor expectations.
· Strategic Business Development:Identify and engage potential donors and other key players to contribute to the success of the Orange Bond. Promote the adoption of “orange advisory” principles among companies seeking funding and play a strategic role in their onboarding process.
· Financial and Regulatory Expertise:Leverage financial knowledge and expertise to navigate Bangladesh’s regulatory environment and ensure compliance with capital market regulations.
· Ecosystem Development: Support initiatives that enhance women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion in Bangladesh, contributing to the broader Orange Bond ecosystem.
· Collaboration & Capacity Building:Collaborate with internal teams, local partners, and external advisors to promote capacity building for sustainable finance practices in Bangladesh.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
· Stakeholder Engagement – Establish and maintain partnerships with investors, DFIs, financial institutions, government agencies, and donors to drive capital mobilization.
· Bond Structuring & Execution – Support the design, structuring, and negotiation of Orange Bond transactions, ensuring alignment with global best practices.
· Strategic Business Development – Identify and onboard donors while promoting “orange advisory” principles to potential investees.
· Financial & Regulatory Compliance – Ensure adherence to Bangladesh’s capital market regulations and financial best practices.
· Ecosystem Development – Contribute to initiatives that enhance women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion.
· Collaboration & Capacity Building – Work with internal teams, local partners, and external advisors to promote sustainable finance practices.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience:At least 10 years of experience in capital markets, development finance, or strategic consulting, with significant private sector experience.
· Knowledge:Strong understanding of financial structuring, business development, and economic development, with familiarity in blended finance mechanisms and the regulatory and investment landscape in Bangladesh.
· Skills:
o Proven ability to structure, negotiate, and execute financial transactions.
o Strong strategy consulting skills, including developing concept notes and creating high-quality PowerPoint presentations.
o Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
o Strong analytical, project management, and negotiation skills.
· Mission-Driven:Commitment to inclusive economic growth and building sustainable financial ecosystems.
· Education:Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred
