Champion Windows - Vice President of Operations

As the Vice President of Operations, you will be Champion's single point of accountability for everything that happens after the sale: order management, installation, service, and warranty. Where the Vice President of Sales owns how projects are sold, this role owns how they are delivered, and is responsible for making sure the customer experience, cost structure, and quality of execution are consistent in every Champion Division.

Reporting to the Division President and serving on the Champion leadership team, the Vice President of Operations sets operational strategy, standardizes how work gets done across branches, and leads the Regional Operations Managers, Service and Warranty, and Installation teams. The role is the primary bridge between the factory and the field and between Sales and Operations, and is measured on customer satisfaction, installation throughput, cost of goods, receivables, and each Division's progress toward profitability targets.

Pay Range: $185,000 - $200,000 base (total comp opportunity up $320K - base plus VC opportunity)

Responsibilities

Operational Strategy and Executive Partnership

  • Partner with the Division President to set short- and long-term operational goals and strategies that align with corporate objectives and support scalable growth.
  • Serve as the operational voice on the Executive Leadership Team, integrating operational and sales strategies so that growth plans are matched by delivery capacity.
  • Lead the operational build-out of new geographic markets, including branch planning, staffing, training, and successful openings.

Sales-to-Operations Integration

  • Partner with the Vice President of Sales to own a seamless end-to-end handoff from signed contract to completed installation, ensuring operational readiness and fulfillment excellence.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the factory and the field, keeping priorities aligned and resolving operational issues before they reach the customer.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing/Distribution, PSG, CSG, NCC, OMG, and the Centralized Sunroom Team to remove friction and optimize cross-functional processes.

Operational Excellence and Standardization

  • Establish consistent operating standards across branches, distribution, installation, and service, and hold every Division accountable to them.
  • Ensure disciplined use of the order-management process, including real-time visibility into schedules, revenue projections, and operating efficiency.
  • Maintain installer capacity in every Division through effective installer recruiting, training, and retention programs.
  • Lead a culture of safety, ensuring safety protocols and training programs are followed in every Division.

Financial Performance

  • Own operational financial performance, including budgets, cost management, cost of goods sold, and profitability by Division.
  • Use job-cost, contribution-margin, and forecast data by region and branch to identify where performance is falling short and drive corrective action.
  • Reduce the cost impact of closed and service-only markets while protecting service commitments to existing customers.
  • Partner with Accounting to keep receivables current and collections disciplined.

Customer Experience and Service

  • Own the post-sale customer experience, setting and maintaining service and warranty standards that protect Champion's reputation.
  • Ensure accurate operational and customer reporting, using results to drive continuous process improvement.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable the Regional Operations Managers, Director of Service and Warranty, and Installation leadership across all Champion Divisions.
  • Build bench strength and succession for key operations leadership roles, and foster a high-performance, accountable culture.
QualificationsSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, job costing, contribution-margin analysis, and operational forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to standardize processes and drive consistent execution across multiple locations.
  • Working knowledge of the residential sales process and customer project lifecycle, from contract through installation and service.
  • Proficiency with operational technology platforms, order-management systems, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership and change-management skills, with the ability to drive performance through influence and collaboration, including with peers in Sales and Manufacturing.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate high-level goals into effective operational execution.
  • Expert problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Executive-level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of field safety programs and compliance requirements.
Education and Experience:
  • 15 or more years of experience in operations, general management, or executive leadership within a multi-location organization.
  • Proven track record of scaling operations, improving efficiency, and improving profitability.

Preferred

  • Experience in residential or commercial construction, home improvement, or installation-based services.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting and working on a computer.
  • Frequent travel to regions, branches, distribution sites, and active installation job sites.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as business needs require.
Success Measures:

  • Customer satisfaction: Net Promoter Score above 70.
  • Installation efficiency: BLOG turns of 40% or higher.
  • Cost management: Cost of goods sold at or below 42%.
