We are seeking a strategic and visionary Vice President of Indoor Product Development to lead our product innovation efforts. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in product development within the outdoor industry, a strong understanding of market trends, and a passion for outdoor activities. This role will be pivotal in shaping our product portfolio, driving growth, and ensuring alignment with our brand values. This role will be responsible for ensuring the effective and timely execution of deliverables across the entire product life cycle on new programs, specifically for Ninja Indoor, as well as sustaining existing products. The role will report to our SVP of Product Development.
Job Description Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive product development strategy aligned with company goals, market demands, and customer insights.
- Drive the ideation and creation of new outdoor products, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and sustainability standards.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform product development and positioning.
- Lead and mentor a team of product managers and developers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
- Establish and maintain quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- The incumbent will be able to determine risk and to recognize operational issues / challenges and to recommend pragmatic solutions in line with the departmental key objectives
- The candidate will ensure that projects are managed effectively to completion, on time, within budget to the desired quality.
- The candidate will have a strong understanding and knowledge of indoor product categories.
- Ability to partner closely with departmental leaders to ensure alignment on the relevant key objectives as well as helping to determine customer expectations. Ensure seamless product launches and go to market strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in product development, with at least 6 years in a leadership role within the indoor consumer goods industry.
- Proven track record of successfully launching innovative products that resonate with consumers.
- Strong understanding of outdoor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
