Summary Generated by Built In

The Vice President, Nabors Drilling Solutions (NDS) provides global leadership for the NDS technology and services business lines, with accountability for the global product roadmap, commercial strategy, P&L performance, customer engagement, and operational execution.

This role partners closely with regional and geographic operations leaders to align product strategy, service delivery, pricing discipline, customer commitments, and operational priorities. The VP of NDS is expected to translate market needs and customer feedback into a prioritized roadmap, drive profitable growth, strengthen global service consistency, and ensure the business is positioned to deliver differentiated technology-enabled solutions across the drilling lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Global Product Strategy & Roadmap Leadership

Primary Skills: Product Strategy • Roadmap Planning • Market & Competitive Analysis • Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Own and continuously evolve the global product roadmap for NDS technology and services offerings, ensuring a coherent strategy across all product lines and every operating geography.
  • Translate customer requirements, market intelligence, and competitive positioning into prioritized product and service investment decisions.
  • Lead stage-gate lifecycle governance for the NDS portfolio — including new product introduction, geography rollout sequencing, and end-of-life decisions — grounded in commercial data and customer demand signals.
  • Maintain a rolling 3-year technology and services roadmap that is reviewed with executive leadership and updated based on market shifts, customer feedback, and competitive activity.

Global P&L Ownership & Financial Performance

Primary Skills: P&L Management • Financial Forecasting & Budgeting • Business Case Development • Margin Management

  • Own the global P&L for NDS technology and services business lines, holding full accountability for revenue, margin, and profitability targets across all geographies and product lines.
  • Develop, present, and defend annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans for the NDS business to executive leadership.
  • Analyze financial performance by geography, business line, and product on a recurring basis, identifying variances and directing corrective action for underperforming segments.
  • Build and evaluate business cases for new product launches, technology investments, and market expansion, ensuring capital and resource allocation align with return expectations.

Pricing Strategy & Commercial Discipline

Primary Skills: Pricing Strategy • Contract Structuring • Commercial Governance • Value-Based Selling

  • Establish and enforce global pricing discipline, approval thresholds, and exception governance for all NDS technology and services contracts, ensuring consistent margin protection across geographies.
  • Design tiered and value-based pricing models that reflect technology differentiation, service level, and geography-specific market dynamics, rather than defaulting to cost-plus or historical pricing.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams on contract terms, master service agreements, and deal structuring for strategic and high-value opportunities.
  • Monitor pricing realization and discounting trends globally, intervening where pricing erosion threatens business line profitability.

Geography Collaboration & Operational Alignment

Primary Skills: Cross-Geography Collaboration • Matrixed Influence • Operating Model Alignment • Governance Cadence

  • Serve as the global product and commercial owner for NDS, partnering with Geography Operations Owners across the various geographies to align product deployment, service delivery capacity, and customer commitments with local operating realities.
  • Establish and lead a recurring matrixed governance cadence — business reviews, roadmap check-ins, and performance forums — with geography leadership to track execution against roadmap, revenue attainment, and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Support geography leaders with product training, technical positioning, and go-to-market materials needed to sell and deliver NDS offerings locally.

Customer Relationship & Commercial Leadership

Primary Skills: Executive Customer Engagement • Relationship Management • Negotiation • Industry Representation

  • Serve as the senior commercial and technical relationship owner for strategic and key NDS customers globally, engaging directly with customer executives on technology strategy, performance, and account health.
  • Lead or directly support commercial negotiations for significant contracts, master service agreements, and technology deployment agreements, balancing customer relationship investment with margin protection.
  • Represent NDS at industry conferences, customer advisory boards, and technology showcases to strengthen market positioning and surface emerging customer needs.
  • Partner with geography commercial teams to ensure a consistent, coordinated customer experience across multi-region accounts.

Organizational & Team Leadership

Primary Skills: Team Leadership • Talent Development • Change Management • Executive Communication

  • Build, lead, and develop a global team spanning product management, pricing and commercial strategy, and customer/commercial success functions.
  • Foster a high-performance, accountable culture across a distributed, matrixed organization operating across US and international geographies and time zones.
  • Communicate NDS strategy, performance, and priorities clearly and consistently to executive leadership, geography partners, and the broader organization.

Safety, Quality & Regulatory Stewardship

Primary Skills: Safety Leadership • Quality Assurance • Risk Management • Regulatory Compliance

  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture across all NDS product and operating activities, ensuring product roadmap and operating decisions never compromise field or personnel safety.
  • Partner with Quality, HSE, and Engineering functions to ensure NDS technology and services meet applicable safety, quality, and industry certification standards across all operating geographies.
  • Ensure customer contracts, warranties, and service level commitments appropriately manage risk exposure for Nabors, in coordination with Legal and Risk Management.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in oilfield services, drilling technology, or a related industrial technology sector, including at least 5 years in a role with direct P&L accountability.

  • Demonstrated experience managing a global or multi-geography product line, including exposure to varied regional market and regulatory conditions.

  • Experience developing and enforcing pricing strategy and leading commercial contract negotiations at enterprise scale.

  • Track record of executive-level customer relationship management, including direct engagement with customer C-suite and senior technical leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across the organization, partnering effectively with engineering, operations, and geography leaders.

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and business case development for technology and services investments.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
