The Role

Vice President of Marketing

5WPR, a dynamic public relations and digital agency based in New York City, is seeking a Vice President of Marketing. This role will lead and oversee the agency's communications and marketing efforts in support of its PR and Digital agency.

The ideal candidate embodies an entrepreneurial spirit, bringing forward-thinking ideas, innovative strategies, and fresh initiatives to the table. They will have a strong foundation in demand generation marketing, with the ability to leverage data-driven tactics to drive measurable business results across multiple channels. They will effectively articulate the agency's value proposition through compelling internal and external messaging, driving growth and elevating 5WPR's brand presence in a competitive market.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage marketing strategies for the overall agency and multiple lines of business across various channels, while working within and overseeing a designated budget.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments, including new business, creative and consumer, B2B, and corporate account teams
  • Leverage paid, earned, shared and owned media tactics
  • Lead initiatives to proactively identify compelling stories that align with the agency's core priorities, showcase client work, agency growth, account updates, and thought leadership.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze campaign performance with a strong comfort level with data, identifying key trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communication efforts, and report on performance to leadership.
  • Oversee the creation of all agency marketing materials including press releases, thought leadership articles, messaging frameworks, presentations, and executive briefing documents.
  • Manage the planning and participation in industry conferences and events, including executive involvement, sponsorships, and advertising opportunities.
  • Oversee the agency's awards submission process to ensure recognition for the agency and its talent.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, target audiences, and opportunities to inform the agency’s marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrate an eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in marketing and the broader digital landscape.
  • Support on internal communications initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing ideally within a marketing, creative, advertising or communications-focused agency.
  • Deep understanding of content and email marketing, SEO, and earned and paid media tactics in support of lead generation and brand building
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing technologies including CRM, digital marketing, reporting and analytics software.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, adjust priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to embrace challenges beyond the defined role.
