As the Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, you will be at the forefront of driving our global growth initiatives. In this highly visible role, you will partner with our Corporate Development and senior leadership teams to manage all legal aspects of Equifax’s domestic and international M&A transactions, joint ventures and strategic investments. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned legal professional with a proven track record of successfully leading complex corporate transactions from inception to closing.
What you’ll do
Serve as the lead legal advisor to our Global Leadership Team on all global mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic investments.
Personally draft and negotiate high-stakes, complex transaction-related documents, operating as the lead counsel on key deals.
Direct the legal strategy for the entire deal lifecycle, overseeing the due diligence process and partnering with the Corporate Development team to manage timelines and execution.
Provide insightful analysis and counsel to business and legal leaders regarding in-depth research on transactions and other legal matters.
Anticipate and advise on potential legal issues, employing an innovative and curious approach to resolve sensitive situations with diplomacy and a high degree of confidentiality.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Tax, Human Resources, and Technology, ensuring seamless transaction execution and integration.
Manage external counsel and other third-party advisors.
What experience you need
A minimum of 10+ years of progressive legal experience, handling and managing complex M&A transactions as an attorney in a top-tier law firm and/or a global corporation.
Experience structuring, negotiating, and documenting venture capital and minority equity investments.
Deep experience providing counsel directly to C-suite executives and a Board of Directors.
Exceptional negotiation, drafting and communication skills.
Strong business acumen with the ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Active Bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
Experience within the FinTech, Financial Services or Technology sectors would be preferable.
