The Vice President, Liability Operational Strategy is empowered to enhance CorVel’s market presence in the administration of liability claims and the overall strategic goals and vision of the company. This role requires a high level of industry knowledge and relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, loss-sensitive insureds and self-insured entities. Reporting to the Chief Claims Officer, this position will closely collaborate with Product, Operational, and Sales leadership to ensure a cohesive vision and experience is delivered to CorVel customers. This role will have direct oversight and responsibility for the operational needs, staffing and P&L performance of CorVel’s Liability Claim Hubs along with identifying, facilitating and participating in essential strategic projects in support of CorVel’s liability offerings and directly participating in sales presentations/RFP responses and the development of opportunities to support the company’s overall growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- With Product, Operations and Sales, establishes a short- and long-term strategy for CorVel’s liability services
- Functions as a market recognized liability thought leader, who presents regularly at conferences and industry events
- Position shares responsibility for meeting and exceeding profit and revenue goals annually
- Enhances CorVel’s industry verticals and practice leaders
- Participates in Marketing and Sales presentations of prospective clients and cross selling efforts of existing customers
- Collaborates in the enhancements of corporate objectives, policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with CorVel’s Corporate and Quality Standards
- Partners with CorVel Operational Leadership to develop/maintain financial analysis practices for operational budgeting and staffing
- Supports national claims leadership in all aspects of strategy development, alignment and implementation
- Collaborates with support functions (IT, HR, Legal, Finance) to develop comprehensive solutions, tools and processes for the liability claims operation
- Provides consistent technical claims training and guidance to claims teams
- Market facing leader responsible for hub office(s)’ carrier compliance, department of insurance compliance, licensing, and responses to client performance concerns
- Leads the execution and financial performance of CorVel’s Liability Hubs
- Arranges and/or facilitates training of claims teams, as appropriate
- Advises, mentors, and counsels management team, as necessary
- Performs additional duties, as assigned

- Ability to maintain a high level of tact and professionalism
- Knowledge of the entire claims administration procedures
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree with course concentration in Business Administration, or related field; or 10+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience in a complex insurance, or third party claim organization with significant sales and public speaking expertise
- Must have significant liability industry experience and in-depth understanding of the TPA marketplace
- Excellent written and verbal communication;
- Speaking as a thought leader at industry events, conferences and employer-hosted events
PAY RANGE:
CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Range: $119,127 – $197,729
