Position Description:

Creates, maintains, and communicates multi-year product roadmaps, and owns the product management lifecycle. Influences broader strategic decisions for products. Collaborates with other leaders to set multi-team roadmaps and coordinate and resolve dependencies. Sets, refines, and communicates the squad’s strategy and mission in alignment with product area strategies. Leads enterprise technology solutions according to Agile methodologies. Provides strategic technology leadership to business partners as they evolve their business models. Leads and maintains production stability, remediates IT Risk, meets quality objectives, and optimizes operational cost. Researches, designs, and develops computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Negotiates product changes with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Enables delivery of product value with quality and standards.
  • Defines, reviews and tracks squad objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Manages vendor relationships and procurement.
  • Reviews project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.
  • Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
  • Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.
  • Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
  • Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
  • Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.
  • Defines, refines, and communicates the mission and roadmap of delivery teams to empower and establish teams, partner support, and alignment.
  • Anticipates, discovers, and prioritizes client/partner needs.
  • Defines, evaluates, and communicates results against acceptance criteria while removing impediments.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Masters to build delivery capacity and capabilities to enable team member growth, development, and learning.
  • Makes informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.
  • Supports and enables team members to be effective, productive, and innovative.
  • Develops cross company and industry partnerships to align and move the product forward.
  • Employs data-driven approach to understand client needs, translate strategic objectives into action, and prioritize/improve value delivered.
  • Works collaboratively to deliver agreed business outcomes, drawing on the expertise of colleagues to advise on the approach and remove impediments to making progress.
  • Participates in client and industry meetings to understand their strategic vision and align to the product roadmap.
  • Delivers business results and customer value by identifying critical metrics to measure results.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Vice President, IT Product Management (or closely related occupation) analyzing, designing, developing, and testing scalable Cloud based software applications using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in the Financial or Technology Services industries. 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Vice President, IT Product Management (or closely related occupation) analyzing, designing, developing, and testing scalable Cloud based software applications using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in the Financial or Technology Services industries.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) migrating monolithic and legacy applications to Cloud based software applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure Cloud service providers, using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Java/J2EE, Spring, and Java Persistence API (JPA).  
  • DE implementing and automating robust compliance operations business process flows, using Power Automate and Power Application Low Code Platforms. 
  • DE mitigating technology risks -- downtime, failure, technical debt, or compliance -- and providing mitigation plans for technology projects throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment, using Jira; integrating systems with integration and data migration patterns --  real-time integration, messaging, file transfer -- using Oracle or NoSQL databases;  and implementing User Experience Designs (UXDs) using front-end technologies -- Angular or ReactJS. 
  • DE collaborating, designing, and building enterprise class applications for use by compliance operations teams to meet financial regulatory controls in an Agile environment, using Jira.
