Position Description:
Designs, implements, and enhances an independent bottom-up risk framework to prevent errors, identify issues, and drive remediations for large-scale managed account client portfolios. Combines investment expertise with a high degree of technical proficiency to provide tax-sensitive, customized management of sophisticated investment solutions, including custom multi-account investment management and asset location strategies, optimized participant level portfolios, and unified managed household assets in retail and workplace accounts. Develops tax-aware transition strategies for high-net-worth clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with business partners to enhance independent bottom-up risk framework for managed account products.
- Provides prototypes and technical design requirements for innovative approaches to monitor and control investment risk and characteristics in a large scale of client portfolios.
- Monitors unintended investment risks in managed account client portfolios.
- Leads the end-to-end issue management process to investigate and mitigate issues that might affect the investment outcomes of managed account clients.
- Creates queries and visuals to provide timely, accurate, and insightful client data analytics to support business partners across the organization.
- Creates hypothetical first trade analysis for prospect client portfolios and manages personalized client portfolios.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Vice President, Investment Management (or closely related occupation) monitoring, designing, and implementing risk management solutions for large-scale portfolios of over $200 billion Assets Under Management (AUM) and transactions, within a financial services industry.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Vice President, Investment Management (or closely related occupation) monitoring, designing, and implementing risk management solutions for large-scale portfolios of over $200 billion Assets Under Management (AUM) and transactions, within a financial services industry.

Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) providing leadership, investment managers, and risk professionals with actionable, data-driven insights using Big Data SQL, Oracle, Snowflake databases management, and Tableau visualization tools.
- DE managing risk and defining Policies and Procedures (P&P) using Confluence; and designing and implementing effective controls and mitigation strategies throughout the investment lifecycle, using KPI Tableau dashboards, Power Automate Email Alerts, SQL Data Querying, and Process Reverse Engineering frameworks.
- DE managing individual client portfolios using multi-portfolio optimization (Axioma); and navigating market fluctuations, capitalizing tax management opportunities, and adapting portfolios based on evolving market conditions and client needs, using Bloomberg Terminal and research reports.
- DE identifying, analyzing, and resolving performance discrepancies, including root cause analysis and developing corrective action plans, using data analysis tools, performance attribution software, and investment management and reporting platforms.
Salary: $166,899.00 - $176,899.00/year.
